OK, I've been on for about a year, and am just now starting to experience "Facebook drama", and wanting to hide things from certain people. I've noticed some folks NEVER post anything. I've realized they probably do, but have set their privacy settings so I just can't see it. I have noticed who they are, have created a list of them and set them to not see my posts.

However, I have one friend who I only know on an aquaintance level IRL. I never see her posts in my newsfeed, but if I look at her page, I can see her activity. How do I set some people up like this? I don't care if they look, but I just don't want to call attention to myself by popping up in their newsfeed, lol.

Yes, I know, I should just post less, or more carefully, but it's addicting to look, and then I can't stop myself from posting

In Facebook, you can create groups for friends. You can list friends in one or more groups ("Family", "Work", "Church", etc.). When you post a status update or share a link or pictures, there is a small lock icon you can click on (and select Customize) to set the security for that post so only certain people or certain groups can see it.

After you click "Customize..." you get a popup window with the prompt:

Use the "Make this visible to" section to select groups who can see the posting. In the "These People" field, if you select "Specific People...", you can enter a list of people or groups.

Or, you can use the "Hide this from" section to list certain people you don't want it to be visible to.

Not long ago FB created an option where you only see information on your newsfeed from the people you actively communicate with, and made that the default on all accounts. This is a setting on your account, and not something you can use to keep your posts from showing up on others newsfeed but they can still see when they go to your wall. So that is probably why you aren't seeing things others are posting but if you go to their profile you see activity.

The only thing that I know of that you can do is to block someone from seeing certain things and that is all the time.

Hmmm I will check this out, thanks. I sometimes post from my phone though... and I don't think you can customize from there.
