Does anyone here know if there is a way I can log on to facebook, yet not show up as logged on in the chat window?

In the chat window that pops up in the corner click go offline. No one will be able to see that you are online. I always leave my chat as offline.

There should be a "chat" box down in the right hand corner of the screen. Under options, click offline. You will be still logged in to FB but unavailable to chat. I stay offline for chat. I like to post but don't normally chat on FB and there are some folks who get offended if you dont want to chat with them.

Thank you so much! That sounds obvious now that you explain it, but I never noticed the 'go offline' option.
