Is there anyway at all to determine or discover who has searched for you on Facebook! I searched for an old flame, but did not send a friend request. I was merely curious to see if he was still alive. Oddly enough, mutual friends of ours are now sending me friend requests and so far I have ignored them. I don't like to go digging up bones!

If it's merely a coincidence, Id be okay with accepting, but not if there is motive on his part!

To hold me to it, but I don't think you can find out who has searched for you. Because you have mutual friends could mean that they looked you up on their own. They saw his profile and then thought "hey I wonder what happened to her."

I could be wrong.

So accept the friends you want and ignore the others. Just note that your friends may tell him about you, should he ask and they are willing to share.

I agree with what Melissa just said. There isn't a way to find out who searched for you.

about a year ago, "Tom" sent out a memo that there is indeed NO WAY to find out who is searching for you. There was a bot out there that claimed to do this, but it was debunked by the memo, with a warning.

Thanks for the info. I was really praying he wasn't aware that I looked at his profile. He must be new to Facebook and he hasn't made it private yet. It's nice to know our old friends still consider me a friend, on Facebook at least.

He might just keep it public, I do. I could care less who looks.

As far as the friends finding you goes, it is probably not a coincidence. While Facebook hasn't official said anything it is probably a safe assumption that they use an algorithm that looks at the people who search for your page and make some friend suggestions based on them.

A scenario like this:

You go to x's page. You also went to the same high school as x. Friends of x are shown your profile as a suggestion because the optimization algorithm sees you searched for one of their friends and went to the same high school.

Facebook caches just about everything you do to optimize their information on you which is where just about all of their value comes from.

I just assume that everything I do online is known by someone, usually Google.
