Facebook need help with it

Hi..can someone better at Facebook than me (I just use it for relatives, so I haven't had to fuss with the settings) help me help me help someone else out? I need to know two things..There appears to be a way to tell who is
visiting your facebook. Does someone know how you can tell when someone has visited your facebook (your wall)? And is there a way to hide yourself, so you don't show up as a visitor to someone's wall (she's showing up even though she has something unlocked that says not to show her)? Like on Yahoo, or other boards, you can make yourself look like you are not on. I'm so glad I don't have teenagers LOL.

I am not aware of anyway to tell who has visited your wall - you can make it so your wall is only seen by people who are your FB friends though.

I do know you can hide yourself from showing up as being on because I was a "test" for a friend who was playing with the settings but I can't tell you how to do it myself - sorry -- I am as clueless as you although I do have a 20 something that probably knows how to do it but she doesn't live here and there is no way I could understand it by just being told how to do it.

I just did a little looking around and under privacy settings it says:

Recent Activity will never be shown about:
Pokes
Messages
Whose profile you view
Whose photos you viewWhose notes you read
Groups and Events you decline to join
People you reject as friends
People you remove from your friends
Notes and photos you delete

On the bottom right of the facebook page there is a tab for chat. If you open that there is an option to 'go offline.' When you do this other people cannot see when you are logged into facebook. I keep mine set that way to avoid people who want to chat when I don't want to be bothered

This gal has been keeping tabs on her daughter through facebook. She does have herself clicked on to not be seen, but her daughter came down today and said, hey, you have been stalking me. And she told her mom the days and times her mom has been to her facebook. Yikes. She won't share that info with her mom (because her mom does think it would be pretty neat to see who has been looking and reading the wall).

I wonder if her dd has been checking internet history. There is no way that I no of to know who has peeked at your wall unless they post something. I go offline to hide from everyone and not be interrupted with chat.

The only way I know that the daughter could know if her mom has been on facebook is if her mom has a facebook and is friends with the daughter, the the daughter could when shes online. Unless shes been spying on her mom by checking her moms internet history...

The mom is friends on Facebook with the daughter..that wasn't the problem. The problem is the daughter didn't realize how many times mom checked out her facebook ..and the daughter has a list. The daughter was not on facebook all day yesterday, she was away from a computer, but she has a list of all the times the mom visited the daughters page. She could tell how many times her mom had gone there. It's like she had some program and it showed her who has been on her wall. Mom had someone else look at something on daughter's wall and daughter also told mom she knew that person went to her wall (and that person clicked on a friend of the daughters Facebook, someone she was not friends with, but the Facebook isn't private, and daughter's friend asked if her daughter knew that person, because she too could tell who was going to her page). I can't figure it out.
I know that the dis tells me who has visited my home page..it's similar to that, it appears.

that must be some program she has downloaded from somewhere else. I've been on facebook for over 5 years now and they do not offer anything like that. I thought most of those progams were pay programs or else just spam? But maybe the daughter found a legitimate one to track her stuff. But it is definitely NOT through Facebook.

That would be plain rotten.. but it's possible.

I'm in IT, and I know of no other way to know if someone is visiting your Facebook page.

OK-Top Visitors was shut down by facebook for privacy reasons and the other one is listed in applications but was not developed by facebook.

Apparently though it just shows the top people who go to her site, and she wasn't exactly telling the truth as to having the times (I guess she made that up on the computer)..but she did get her mom to admit to 'stalking' her since her mom was listed as the top person on her site. If I find out what it is, I'll be back to enlighten you all LOL! Good grief.

I'm betting she just called her mom's bluff. Said "I've got this application that shows who's on my page and you were on it"......trying to get the mom to fess up.

It must not be something you have to d/l, because she has now showed her mom who her top stalkers were, and mom said they went to my facebook (apparently you can see who other people's stalkers are) and I now have a list of my top stalkers (my niece is my top stalker..why on earth does she keep going to my facebook LOL?). If mom can figure out how to do it herself and actually repeat it, she says she will send me the directions, and I'll share them. I can't ask her daughter, because she doesn't want her daughter to know she asked me about it.
