Do you all have people on your Facebook friend's list that NEVER post anything positive. I have 2 people on my list that are so negative. Their status updates always consist of whiny complaints. Neither of them are people I am particularly close with today. One is someone I went to high school with and the other is a 'friend' from an online playgroup community (I have met her and her family in person and I've known her online for over 10 yrs). I enjoy reconnecting with people and keeping in touch with people. I really do like to see status updates and see what everyone is up to. It would be unlike me to 'dump' a person. I know this would be a solution...but the whining really isn't a problem. It's more of an observation and feeling bad that anyone can be 100% negative. Good grief. It's not like these people have bad lives or are miserable. There has to be something good they can say...at least once! Not..poor me, I have to work. I have overtime. I don't feel well, I'm tired, I'm sick again, My neighbor is a jerk, something broke, I have so much to do....not one positive post...EVER! Sometimes I have to fight the urge to say, "Does anything good EVER happen to you?" or, "Are you ever happy?"

Do most people have at least one person on their list like this?

Yep, I hide their posts on my wall, so I don't see them. I don't want to get rid of them as friends just in case I want to contact them again, so I chose to hide their posts ;)

ditto.

Nope, worst I get is one of my former co-workers, an amazing chef, listing what she's currently cooking on that day. I'm on a fairly extreme diet, so it's like TORTURE!! ;)

Exactly what I do ;)

If you don't like it, hide or delete them. Facebook is about posting random stuff about whatver is on your mind.

I think we all have a negative Nancy in our real lives, why not on Facebook. I don't hide them or anything. If they want to live under a rain cloud their entire life that is up to them.

I know that. I actually feel bad for someone that literally NEVER has anything good to post. Surely, once in a while, something good must happen to this person. If that is truly what is on her mind all the time, then that is truly sad...since she does seem to have much to be thankful for. She has a job, a place to live, health..beyond the normal stuff the complains about (headche, sniffles, sinus), family, etc. You'd think someone like this might have something better on their mind once in a while.

I get more sick of the people who constantly post song lyrics. Or the ones who are always posting the messages that say if you agree copy and paste this into your status.

The negative ones don't bother me nearly as much....maybe because I take comfort in knowing other people feel as whiny as I do sometimes ;)

I have a vegan on mine. And she posts the most horrible, terrible, awful animal video's. I sit at my desk and cry.

I try not to click, I try! And I click and watch and end up in tears.

I finally just hid her. I just couldn't do it anymore. I could not stop clicking.

The cow 'scared of death' and the pig 'waiting to die'. Blah. :guilty:

I'd rather read negative posts than *constant* toddler/baby updates.

This!! I have one facebook friend who posts a combination ie. The kids won't sleep through the night, the baby is cranky, the kids finally napping but probably they won't sleep tonight, the toddler won't eat, etc.

Thank goodness I have another friend who pretty much posts exclusively positive things so they balance each other out :lmao:

I have a friend on mine who is 41 and who talks about partying and posts songs from the late 80's all of the time. I dont mind the songs but all of the party stuff gets a little old. I have to hide half of her posts.

I think we all have those people, I too hide them and I check back in once in a while to see if anything has changed. But then sometimes I just sit back and watch,popcorn:: I laugh when people are angry about stupid things:lmao:

Yes, this I *do* have! One person in particular who can't seem to manage to take pics of anything but her daughter and every single little thing she does... and post about them. At length.

I would do the same, that's terrible! :(

I'm out of that age bracket, thank GOD! I get Mom/Dad's in the hospital, Mom/Dad's OUT of the hospital updates .. or funeral arrangements...:scared1:

I think some people do it for attention. They want people to comment on it because it makes them "feel better" or "feel good".

I work with one of those. Nothing she ever says is positive. Most of the time I try to compliment her or say something nice to her about something BEFORE she complains. It usually makes her more pleasant to be around and it takes longer for the complaining to start.

The thing I dont like on Facebook is people who tell WAY too much. I have one who you know everything she does during the given day. She updates her status at least 5 times a day to let everyone know what she is doing at that moment.

Does anyone know how to un-hide someone? I hid some people and don't know how to get them un hid. :confused3

I love my niece but she is now out of a job and stays home and goes on facebook all day. At night when i check mine, there are so many negative posts from her! Her and her boyfriend are both unemployed and they stay home and eat and play video games all day. He is now 500 lbs and she is gaining alot of weight too. I cant delete her so i hide her posts. She sends so many requests too that i just ignore. One that i did delete was my friends husband, he said he thought my picture was too sexy! i thought that was strange and deleted him!
