Would someone please share their opinions/experiences with face painting at WDW? We've done the pirate league for my son twice. I really don't want to do it again. Just feel like we've "been there, done that" and don't need to pay $50 for it again!

I know they do face painting at AK. Does anyone know how much it is and how long it takes? Are there other places in WDW to have it done? I've looked at the main disney site and allears and I haven't seen pictures or reviews.

My DDs had theirs done at the Trading Post area of Epcot a couple years ago. I think we paid about $15 each for full faces.

We had it done at MNSSHP, so I'm not sure on the price, but I think it was about $15. They were very fast, no more than 5 minutes. My son got the Jack face, and it was really cute. It lasted all night.

My niece had it done at AK a couple of weeks ago. The price varied from $10 to $15. She chose a $15 face and I swear they had it done in 3 minutes. And it was really pretty.

We've had it done both AK and MK, but I don't know where it will be in MK with ToonTown closed. Like the PP have said, it was all done in a matter of minutes, and lasted all day. The last time we had it done at AK the waitress at Tusker House said if we needed a touchup, they would do it for free anyplace in WDW. I hadn't ever heard that before. My youngest wanted to show it off to her friends the next day, so I let her sleep in it (yea, I know, bad mommy) and other than a little of the white wearing off, it still looked pretty good.

Only $15? I guess I'll put this on our list of "things to do".

My kids had their faces done at AK last year and I think we paid $15 for each. My DD had a Tinkerbell mask that was only around her eyes. My oldest DS was a dinosaur (full face), and my youngest DS was a lion prince (full face). They looked amazing and were so fast!

DS got a Sith face painted in about 5 or so minutes in DHS and it was $15. If you are looking at the Muppets building, go through the archway on the right and the face painting was right there.
DS did complain that it was melting off (about 80F that day) so within a few hours, he wiped most off and was left with quite an interesting red/black smudged face.

Right across from Primeval Whirl is where we had it done.

The first time our daughters had their faces painted was at AK, across from Primeval Whirl. The cost was $15.00, however, after they were finished, I wasn't certain about tipping. I watched the next person, and they indeed gave a tip at the end. I immediately gave the guy a tip and he said thanks, and said how they appreciate tips. So the following year, the girls wanted to do it again, this time at Toon Town, on the right of the entrance. So, when they were finished, I attempted to tip the gentleman. To my surprise, he declined and said that it was a nice gesture, but couldn't accept any extra money. I'm totally confused...let me know if you have this done, what your experience is when it comes to tipping or not.

Both of my girls love to get their faces painted in DHS, right next to the Jedi Training. For some weird reason, they always wait until our DHS day to get their faces painted, even though I am always suggesting it at other parks :confused3....weird kids I guess I have :rotfl:

Add us to the been-there-done-that and will-do-it-again. :)

On our last trip, DS8 and DS3 had their faces painted at MK on departure day. I think there was a price variation offered for smaller/simpler patterns, but they chose a full-face tiger that cost $15 as stated. The flight home was a blast with my two little tigers roaring at playful passengers and airport personnel!
