Face coverings required again indoors

DD (11) gets her rapid test tomorrow and if negative we go to Aulani on Sunday. If she is positive I was planning on a last second trip to WDW to use our DVC points 10 days later but now I’m not sure. We were just there a month ago, with the indoor mask rule changing middle of our trip. If we do it we might just do the pool during the day and hit the parks just the last 3 hours each day when it is a little cooler. Not needing the masks while walking around outside was most important, but I’m not up for standing in a long Tower of T line with a mask in 94 degrees when I’ve ridden in 30+ times already.
If she’s covid positive you’re taking her to wdw? Or do you mean after she tests negative again?

We’re getting there Saturday and happy about this decision. We were going to wear masks indoors anyway.
In doors was fine, my DD wore hers when literally inside our entire trip and us until they removed the indoor mandate. 35 minutes standing relatively still outside in a queue is not the same.

This better be gone for the 50th. The last thing Disney wants is a bunch of people having to wear masks on the 50th anniversary. Not like they are decreasing capacity.

If the numbers drop in 4 weeks it could be possible. Need to get the people who are infected now through it before we can see a dip.

A friend who is a contract tracer here in SC told me they have processed a steady number of “just visited WDW” positives in the last three weeks. Glad they’re requiring masks again. On our trip July 4th week they weren’t enforcing masks at night on the monorail.

Yeah, I’ve worn masks outdoors in the heat before. It’s not pleasant but it’s ok. We‘re planning on a more relaxed trip with breaks anyway. Let’s be honest, that heat isn’t pleasant with or without a mask.

I wore a mask for an entire week (outdoors + indoors) for my May trip and I was perfectly fine. I've had asthma since I was a kid. I was in the parks the day the mandate was lifted, and I kept it on out of habit. Many trip reports in the Here & Now thread with other posters stating the same.

If you don't want to comply with the rules, then don't go, I suppose? Shorter lines for me. :earsboy:

Seems to be a repeat of the same discussion with the same points being made over and over again.

I wouldn't cancel anything if you don't want to wear a mask and your trip is more than 60 days out. If the U.S. follows the same trajectory as the U.K., the Delta Variant might not be a major concern for very long. I've been reading that it spikes and plateaus rather quickly (4 weeks or so), then cases start to drop quickly.

What I have read said it spiked in places where vaccine rates are high, up,to 70%. Not the case in the US.

Stop making Disney the Countries nanny. Everyone has heard the news and they can decide whether to go or not. Just because some of you want them to have their guest wearing hazmat suits to make you feel good doesn’t mean it must happen. You all sound so overwhelming and pushy. So righteous and holier than thou. Masks have become a strange religion for so many to harass other people with.
Disney isn’t acting as a country’s nanny. They are instituting policies for the best interests of their guests and their business. Don’t like it? I have a very simple solution for you: don’t go.

They don't care about guests it's more their reputation as there is a lot more they would be doing if they were worried about guests like cutting down how many people are in the park. They are just trying to save face at this point.

I know no one knows for certain, but does this also mean all outdoor attractions - Safari, Jungle Cruise, Dumbo?

Totally agree. Delta is quickly receding in the Uk now so we are prob weeks away. This may get some hesitant adults to get vaccinated, so all the better. That said, I just canceled my August trip. The outdoor masking (in queues/attractions) in the already brutal August heat just isn’t a good return on investment. Will happily go some time in the late fall even if rules in place.
