Just wondering who's going and what to expect out of a character audition. I am so nervous and don't want to go because I know I'm not a size 2 and I feel like there is so much criteria, like a certain voice, acting skills, etc. I want to go to take a chance and also because I'd love to not have to do my assigned role (qsfb) and if you get to be a character, I'm pretty sure that's the only way out of it. Just looking for experiences, votes of confidence, and so on.

You would be surprised at all the difference shapes and sizes princesses come in!

Face character auditions are (not surprisingly) mostly about your face. They aren't overly concerned with your acting ability or speaking skills at the audition, they're pretty confident that they'll be able to train you well enough in those areas after the fact.

Just go into it with a healthy dose of realism. It's hard to look like a cartoon character and even harder to look like all the other girls who look like a cartoon character. Just because you don't look like Cinderella doesn't mean you aren't pretty! You just don't look like Cinderella but neither does Megan Fox!

All you have to do for a face audition is show up and smile. Literally. You'll get there and be given a number, wait in a long line, and then stand in front of the entertainment casting CM's. They usually play music, mostly so they can talk amongst themselves without you hearing them. Then they'll call out the numbers of the girls that they want to stay and the rest will be asked to leave. They won't tell you why they didn't keep you, which is a good thing really, no one is going to say "you're too fat" or "you have a funny nose".

If you're asked to stay they'll fit you for the costume of the face character they're considering you for and have cosmetology do your make-up and put the wig on and the works. They'll have you pose for pictures and they'll ask you to improvise a few poses as that character. They may ask you some questions and ask that you respond as that character.

Thanks so much for the input! It really helps and makes me want to go even more. If anyone else is planning on going or has any tips, please post. I'd love to stand in line/go with other girls, rather than alone. Although, I'm sure I'll talk to people in line!

Ah! GOOD LUCK! You're doing something that I've always wanted to do, but will probably never have enough confidence for, so I'm really pulling for you! Make sure you report back on what happens!

Does anyone know how long auditions last? They start at 9am (you are supposed to check in at 8) and I have to work at 2pm. I'm worried they may take hours and I couldn't get to work. Input?
