Face chairs in BWV lobby

I have been reading these boards for a few years now and have seen several posts about how scary some people think the clown slide is a BWV.

Now I am a BWV owner and have never had any problems with the clown slide. However, the two chairs in the BWV lobby with the wierd faces, those I find quite freaky.

I was just curious if any of my fellow BWV owners or DVC members have noticed these chairs and also found them a tad disturbing. :scared:

I've noticed the chairs ... but finding that they were replicas of furnishings displayed in the nearby photos answered my unspoken "questions."

Those face chairs are pretty spooky looking.

Here is a closeup of one of the scary chairs!

Thank you Tagrel!! Those are the chairs that I am talking about. There is something about them that I find unsettling, but that could just be me :confused3 :)

Maybe that is because it looks like a bald guy with flowers all around his head and he's wearing a dress! :earseek: I just looked it up, and yup - THAT IS SCARY! :teeth:

(And its NOT just you!)

I love those "scary" chairs and have taken several favorite photos of our granddaughter on them. :cool1:
They're extremely decorative and are reminiscent of true old Atlantic City boardwalk decor. They often had frightening devilish images displayed throughout the amusement areas as well as in the carved furnishings in the local hotels.
The carved man on this chair is pretty non-threatening compared to what you sometimes see on other Victorian/antique furniture.

Eeewww! They are creepy! Just like the slide! I don't know exactly why, but this resort just does not appeal to me at all! Maybe because I really, really do not like Atlantic City at all. Maybe it's a clown thing, maybe it's the weird decorations they have. I don't know exactly. I find it odd because so many people absolutely love their Boardwalk! :confused3

Even though I find the chairs a bit unsettling, I absolutely LOVE the Boardwalk Villas, which is a good thing, as it is my home resort  :lovestruc

I just posted, as I was curious to see if I was the only one, who noticed these chairs and thought they were a bit odd looking. I figured that either others would post that they noticed them, or that I would have to admit to myself that I had a strange fear of bald men with creepy smiles in dresses with really tiny feet, whose heads were haloed by a sunburst.

I am glad to see that it is the prior of the two outcomes...less therapy for me ;)

Tagrel,
I just checked out your website and love your CM appreciation cards!!

We made some of our own with Tinkerbell on them, which we passed out on our last trip. The CM's loved them. I even put 20 of them in my 4 year old DS's wallet, so that he could give them to CMs at his discretion. He had a wonderful time sprinkling pixie dust on the CMs, who made his trip magical. It was a great lesson for him in expressing gratitude, and he told me that we have to print out even more cards for our next trip, as he ran out in October.

Both my boys will love the Toy Story cards; thanks for sharing!!! :teeth:

I think the problem stems from that old movie "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" A cult classic!

I do think they are weird--but that's why I like them! I have always found oddities interesting and fun. Love my BWV and love the chairs! :cheer2:

I have found a lot of guests at WDW that are scary. I would worry about them a lot more than I would chairs.

"It" I think it was a Stephen King book/movie.
