Fabric for a footstool and Couch HELP

HELP!!! I have an ugly huge ottoman. It’s ugly. It’s huge. Did I mention it’s ugly? It’s a huge thing with this checkered pattern. With a little work I realized I could slip cover the WHOLE thing (thank gosh). SO with my crazy tight budget in mind, what kind of fabric does one use to cover it? I have young visitors here and there and I’m a college student. It will be covered in a nice burgundy colored fabric.
Also what color would be good for some throw pillows? My furniture is burgundy and black. I have a turquoise, purple, cream and lime green colored rug (its stripes) and these lamps http://www.target.com/5-Head-Floor-...F8&frombrowse=0&index=target&rh=k:lamp&page=1

So what do you recommend for throw pillow covers and fabric for the ottoman? I don’t want to get rid of the ottoman cause I spend $25 bucks on a ottoman, a love seat and two ugly throw pillows.

Go to Joann's Fabrics and check out their upholstery fabric. You definitely want a sturdy fabric to cover furniture.

I'd go with a black fabric for the pillows if you are using a burgundy for the ottoman. Definitely make sure you use upholstery grade fabric and think about scotch guarding the ottoman. Lots of things get dumped or spilled with little ones & college students.

Before and after? I think i can handle that. See you on sunday. Today is shoping and sleeping over at moms night. im doing the pillows at moms then the otomen at home suday and ALL WITHOUT a sewing machine

I told you, Here's the afters.

you cant tell but the pillows are a cream color with little flowers. The flowers are a pretty fusicia color and light yellowish color. Its a nice complement to the sofa and footstool. Then again the throw pillows for the couch get no use since there place is constantly occupied by cat butts.
