hancock fabric is going to have northern fleece on sale for 2.99 a yard. It is 60 wide! I have used it and does make cute blankets.

My DS is now going to click emotions.

Sooo....for a newbie, how hard is it to make a blanket?

its not that hard, i have had the girls help me make 4 no sew ones, and am finishing up on the first of 2 actual quilted ones.first time quilting fleece so it is really a lesson in patience! i am going to try to post pics, that is if i can stop re doing the seams!!!! have fun!

Not hard at all - there are lots of easy patterns online.

Thanks for the heads up . I ordered all my fabric online and got free shipping. The local Linus program just became available in our area so now all 4 of us will get our volunteer program done. I actually ordered more than necessary to make a few more blankets, i think the kids will be happy to do a little extra work for such a worthy cause and get fast passes at WDW for our trip in September.

Just be sure to check your requirements - ours was very specific that they wanted prints, no solids
