So...this has nothing to do with Disney...except maybe a similarity to Cinderella...

Just finished watching "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"...where they remade a transgender.

So I want to understand...I am not sure what is the difference between transgender and gay/lesbian.

Here is what I think...this person was born a female...was physically attracted to females...but didn't feel female...so they are attracted to females but in a male sort of way?!

I hope someone can kinda explain this....without drama please...

Basically, transgendered is when someone "feels" wrong with their physical genitalia. For instance, a girl/woman may be very masculine in both appearance and emotion, and "feel" as if they are male in every way except for the "parts." The reverse, of course, is true of people born male, they feel they are truly female. Theories abound. One of the best possible explainations I've heard is that our brains are imprinted and develop male or female because of hormones released at specific times while we are in the womb.

Transgendered people usually are in the process of going through, or already have had, sexual reassignment surgery (sex change). Whereas "gay" people are perfectly happy being the sex they were born into, but are attracted to the same sex, transgendered may or may not be gay. In otherwords, a female who becomes a man may be attracted to women, in which case they would be considered straight, or they may be attracted to men, in which case they would be gay. Most transgendered people are straight.

Thanks...that is what I thought but you said it so much better :)
