Seems things have changed since our trip last year and I just want to make sure I am planning correctly for our trip next year. My 8 year old has multiple food allergies... but all common... peanuts, tree nuts, milk, soy, and gluten (he has celiac). He's also allergic to zucchini but I never worry about that one since thats very easy to avoid. I noticed we were able to check all the boxes on for his allergies while making our ADRs. Do I still email Special Diets since he has multiple allergies or not???

I honestly don't worry too much about them feeding him because he's pretty easy to feed. He's very happy with grilled meets, boiled or pan fried potatoes, veggies, rice/rice pasta and fruit. If a few places had french fries he'd be over the moon. I usually bring my own desserts so he can have something more fun and special then fruit for dessert anyway. Its more about making sure the chefs are knowledgable about his allergies for cross contamination issues... thats my biggest concern!

Were here now with multiple allergies. I can honestly say that TS meals the chefs have come out and gone over our options. And asked DD & DS what ever they want they can make. QS service has been OK. Depends in where you go. Egg allergic son could only have fries & grapes at back lot studios catering co. Curritos & grapes in QS mexico nothing else. DD with milk, peanut, tree nut has had several options every QS we've been to.

We just got back. I have one child with peanut and shellfish allergies and one child who is gluten free. I did not email special diets and had no problems. Chef came to our table in almost every restaurant and managers came at the quick services with all the info i needed. All the chefs were great. Table service places we went were Rose and Crown, Teppan Edo, GF Cafe, Be Our Guest, Le Celier, Brown Derby, Sci-Fi, Chef Mickey breakfast, Ohana Breakfast, and Hollywood and Vine breakfast. Feel free to ask any specifics about any of these places.

When we went in the spring, special diets didn't want you to fill out a form unless there were more than 4 allergies. Since you meet that criteria, it probably wouldn't hurt to fill out the form so the chef can be expecting you. I've had chefs special order items in when they knew we were coming with gluten free, no egg, no milk, no soy. One chef even made a special loaf of bread just for him.
