Does anyone know how much they charge at the entrance of Epcot for the F&W wristlets that you can load money onto instead of digging out your wallet .

Just how ever much you are loading onto them, you can load however much you want and reload again and again.

As I recall, they just see it as a gift card, so no extra charge.

The wrist gift cards are free. You bring them to the cashier and will only be charged the amount you want on the gift card. They do make it very easy to use when dining and drinking at the kiosks!

One heads up - I had mine fall off the wrist part.

Luckily I noticed it right away and saw it on the ground otherwise I'd have been out whatever money was left on the card or have had to try and get another one for what was left on the card if I could since I still had my receipt with the gift card number on it which I don't know if any CM would have done for me or not.

I decided that I'd just use my magic band on this trip and have a really long check out receipt. LOL And have some cash on me just in case their system goes down.

Can Magicbands be used at the F&W kiosks? For me, that seems more convenient than getting a separate wristlet to pay for things.

Yes. I buy the gift cards because in my mind (note I said in my mind) it seems to help me cut down on costs. In actuality I just reload that sucker so it doesn't really but what's in my mind is all that counts. I like the convenience of having it on my wrist so I don't have to dig in a pocket/purse to get it out. I didn't have any problems with mine coming off, as a matter of fact I still have it a year later and use it on all my trips.

So they don't charge for the wristlet itself?
It's just a regular Disney gift card, but about half the size and on a coiled wristlet so you don't have to dig into your purse or pocket every time. There's no charge for the wristlet and you can put whatever amount you want on it. It can be used anywhere Disney gift cards are accepted. We had a leftover balance and used it on our next trip to Disneyland where the castmembers really liked seeing it.

It seems silly to have the gift cards alongside magicbands, but I support they're useful for off-site guests of the tinfoil hat crowd. I like having the band and like the poster above said, I'd be worried about the cards falling off.

Hmmmm...not sure what I'm going to do. I like the idea of puting money on a card to use so I don't have to use cash but I also like the convenience of using my magic band:-)....although, it does seem a bit dangerous to me since I could really go crazy and not know exactly how much I'll end up with in the end.:p

If you do use your magic band can't you just stop by the hotel when you return and apply a gift card to your account?
