I'll be visiting the F&W a few times (solo), so here's what I tried my first time:

CHINA
Chicken Sha Cha with Peanut Sauce $3.50 Always a favorite for me. Makes me think I may need to marry a Chinese man who can cook!

Tsingtsao $4.00 Great for the start of a hot afternoon. But, I was so hot that I drank it too fast and I was lightheaded before I ever made it to Poland.

SOUTH AFRICA
Durban Spiced Chicken $3.50 Very good.

The Outback Wine Walk-About - The best value yet! $5.00 for one sample from each of 5 regions. Very good learning experience! Took home a bottle of Wynn's Sheraz.

ITALY
A Chocolate Free from a basket outside.

Banfi Rosa Regale with Chocolate $6.50 – Most excellent!!! Bought this one.

UNITED STATES
Crab Cake $3.00, Roasted Corn and Lobster Chowder $2.50, Nice while watching the show in front of Japan.

Ravenswood Zinfandel $2.50, eh

MOROCCO and MEDITERRANEAN
Kafta Shish Kabob with Couscous $3.00 I've had Kafta in Morocco so was curious about how they would make it on a Shish Kabob... so basically its a Kafta meetball. LOL It was good, as was the couscous. However, I must mention that I only got to try half of the Kafta, as I dropped my poor meatball onto the floor. LOL

FRANCE
Creme Brulee $1.75 This was fabulous!!!!

SPAIN
Paella with Shrimp and Clams $3.50 Really liked this it had three shrimp and one clam... I tried the clam, but still don't like them.

CANADA
Inniskillin Pearl Ice Wine $4.50 - This was way SWEET!

I loved reading your reviews, I can hardly stand waiting till this weekend to enjoy it myself!
The chicken w/peanut sauce was one of my favorites last year.
Thanks for posting.:D

Where was the Outback Wine Walkabout located? I didn't see it when we were there.
Of course, we were strictly focused on food booths! ;)
We'll be going back again in Nov and I'd like to try that!

Also, do you know around what time you were able to get the chocolate in Italy? We went by there and saw the table for making chocolates but no one was around. I'm wondering if they only did this during certain times of the day.

The Chicken Sha Cha was a family favorite for us too. We had to split one three ways!! We'll go back for more next time.

Thanks for your reviews!

That Banfi Rosa Regale was awsome!!It kinda reminded me of a Kir Royle. I thought the Creme Brulee was the Bargin of the F&W. The tomato & Cheese Tart was a good deal & wonderful also.

Go back to Poland & get the cabbage roll. But if you think the Ice wine is sweet don"t get the Cherry Wine.

I started from Mexico, so the Walk-About is on the left, after South Africa. It's where SPAIN was last year. There is the Walk-About then behind it, a tent/store. Its easy to miss, but worth asking if you can't find it. :)

The chocolate demos in Italy are 3 or 4 times during the day. (I'll try to post the times later). I missed the last one of the day but the basked was in the booth in front of the country, to the left of what looked like a chocolate making vat thingy. There was tourist information and a basket of chocolates, factory made and wrapped... but yummy.

The problem was all those people who took more than one... but don't worry, I still have a couple left if you'd like me to mail one to you. LOL

Round Two of my
IMBIBity Bobity Boo
will be no later than November 13th. Sooner if I have nothing to do next weekend. :)

The Banfi Rose Regale has been a favorite of ours since last years food/wine fest. This stuff is spectacular on it's own, and when paired with chocolate...wow!

Ice Wine...yes, very sweet, it is a dessert wine. Very delicious!

Wow - This sounds awesome! Thanks for the heads up - we are there for the last week of the festival! Never been before.

I definitely plan on doing the walkabout with my MIL - sounds delish! And the creme brulee sounds like a must try!

Thanks PieInYourEye!! I will definitely have to look for that next time. I think my kids went into one area where there was a tent like thingy near SA but I didn't go with them. Too busy eating! :o

I don't think that chocolate would make it through the mail system but thanks for the offer! ;)

Maybe we'll see you there on the 15th??

Nov. 14th I have a pairing at Coral Reef, then since I'll be in the area that weekend for a Women of Faith conference, I'll be stopping by F&W on Sunday the 16th before I leave town.

Well, we'll try not to eat everything while we're there on the 15th so you'll have something to enjoy the next day!

I'll miss you by a day! I have the Coral Reef pairing the day before you, and I'll be at the one at Le Cellier on the 14th.
:hyper:

Thanks for the report. I'm trying to soak up everyone's wonderful information before our trip Nov. 13-16.

We were just there for the strat of the festival. We spent 3 days eating our way around the World. The Banfi was wonderful, brought a bottle home. We also brought home a bottle of wine from Germany, the name escapes me.

Florida: Florida Orange Groves Strawberry wine, sweet, but good.

Mexico: Watermelon water, taste like watermelon (non-alcoholic)

Ireland: Whiskey flan and Irish cream. Both very good!

China: Dan Dan noodles, good but spicy and Scallion pancake, very good and the mango mousse. DD 1 yo and the us like this.

That is it for now. I can post more tomorrow. We tried a lot of stuff!

I found more time.

Australia: Shrimp on the barbie, OK, but not worth the price. You get 3 small shrimpp. tenderloin with BBQ sauce, good, but slightly tough. Macadamia nut and wattleseed pavlova, very good. DD 1 yo also liked it.

Germany: Appler strudel, DH like it. Smoked pork ribs, yummy. DD also liked. Valckenberg Rhein Dry Reisling, very good. We bought a bottle. I skipped the spaetzel because I had just made a ton for DD 1st birthday party.

Italy: Baked Ziti Carbonara, yummy!!!! DD also liked. Sicilian Pizza, OK. Cannoli, not worth the price. We've had better at the local fair.

United States: Crab cakes, very good. DH liked and he doesn't like crab. Corn and lobster chowder, it was good, but no visible lobster. Cheesecake, ordinary. Honey lemonade, good.

Champagne: White chocolate mousse, very tiny, but good. Banfi Rosa, yummy! Brought a bottle home. Pommery Brut, tastes like champagne.

Japan: Green tea mousse, very good. DD also liked. Genbei san no Onigoroshi sake, recommended by cast member. Not bad.

Morocco: couscous with vegetables. Very good.

France: Goat cheese and tomato tart. Good, but no visible tomatoes. DD liked.

Cognac: Flourless chocoltae cake, tasted like fudge, yum! Cardinale Mendoza Spanish Brandy, very strong, but you could taste the raisins. Hennesy VSOP cognac, strongest stuff I have ever had. This was our first time trying cognac and brandy.

Spain: Zambra sangria, good, but I like mine with fruit.

Canada: We skipped because we had already eaten lunch at Le Cellier. Standard fare at booth.

Russia: Potato pancake with sauerkraut and sour cream, yummy.

Southeast Asia: pulled chicken with chili and lime, DH liked. I had the shrimp noodle soup, it was alright.

Colorful eating: Citrus mango salad, mango was not ripe enough. Grapefruit cake, good. Florida Orange Groves Coca Polada, you could really taste the coconut in this wine.

Poland: We skipped because DH's family is Polish, standard fare back home.

We would have tried more, but we ran out of time and money.
