This is my DBF and my favorite time at WDW. We have gone the past 2 years, going this year, and already have plans for going next year!
1. Like it has been said before. Take plenty of $1's. But we also take a few $5's. It's easier on your billfold, and it's easier on the CM. It's easier to grab coins instead of bills being in those booths.
2. Go during the weekdays! We always go Tuesday (from Mexico to America) and Wednesday (from Cananda to America). It's not as crowded as the weekends. If you only want to do it one day...pick Tuesday thru Thursday.
3. If you can only go on the weekends, Go early! It opens at 11:00, and we were able to walk right up to the booths. I know 11:00 sounds early, but it's my normal lunch time at work anyway.
4. Try to get the menus of the booths from the internet before you go. We always get a little plan of what we want to try before we go.
5. If you were able to look at the menus before you get down there.....look at the food display before you order! My DBF was dying to try escargo. He didn't look at the display, and well, the green sauce turned him off at first look, but he tried anyway.....after three chews

he was so sick. Thank goodness for Japan and their shrimp rolls.
6. Listen to your taste buds and your stomach!!!!! You will hear on here, these wonderful "not to miss" foods. That is someone else's opinion. Your tastebuds, nose, eyes will not steer you wrong!
7. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the festival. First trip, DBF and I ran from booth to booth....missed so much. Relax and enjoy!
8. Enjoy surprising your husband!!!! Congratulations on being able to keep it a secret. I had a secret trip planned for DBF for the first week in Jan next year....lasted maybe 2 hours and I had to tell him.
I hope some of these are helpful....have a great time, and save some food for us!!!
