We are planning to go to F&W this year. :cool1: It has been several years since we have been. How many items do you eat before becoming full? I am trying to plan my ADRs but don't want to have too many. I am going to look at last years menus to see what appeals to us but I don't know if we need more than one visit to eat it all. Thanks! :)

We have gone to the F & W Fest for the past 8 years. We stay at BCV and have Park Hoppers. We get the DDP. We do 1 Signature Restaurant each trip using 2 credits for that meal.
We then plan one day where we have a light CS meal for lunch and "Nosh Around the World" is our dinner. We also do 2 full days in Epcot as well as ending 4 or 5 nights out of 7 there. We partake of the booths every time we are in Epcot. Somethimes it is 3 or 4 things, sometimes we completly work our way around the world. Many serving sizes are small 2 or 3 bites at most. Some are larger and we also share. We also have favorites that we have more than one time. Last year that included the lamb chops and the baked ravioli. Wonderful.
We love it and we would not be able to have everything we enjoy in only one visit.

Obviously it will depend on the individual. Most "normal" size folks will eat 5-6 (perhaps more) different samples before being "full".

That leads to an important strategy issue. Go at least two days and start the second day going in the opposite direction from the first day.

We usually split everything unless it is something the other person likes or, in the case of my mom, is allergic to. Last trip we had 2 afternoons (with evening ADRs) and one full day for eating around Food and Wine (plus other "every day" WS items). We did not get to try everything we wanted because we were too full!

We like to try the food booths for lunch. We start at 11:00 and finish around 2:00. Generally it takes us 3 times to try most of them. We then plan a TS dinner for around 8 or 8:30.

We will eat pretty much every lunch during F&W at Epcot with our hoppers (maybe not MK, but we RD DHS and AK so we're done by lunch time - that's just us) and then head to eating/drinking/noshing around the world. I usually have 3-4, my dad and DH will have a lot more than that, over several hours or just drinking, watching the shows, etc. I eat the escarot at least once a day, and sometimes more. My whole family loves it and our first stop is always for that and Kir Royale "hooray family" toast:) That's one of my favorite memories, in or outside of WDW, and yes, I'm 33 and we still go to WDW for F&W with my folks:) DH loves it and sometimes his family comes too which is even better. Our dads get way too crazy together though!

I found that 3-4 items leaves me feeling full. I like to make a meal out of it. If you want to try everything, you can have everyone in your party order something different at each of the kiosks and share.

Agreed, 3 or 4. That is why we share most items.

2012 was my 3rd F&W but the first one where I managed to try something from every booth. It took me 5 days. I was stuffed to misery every day.

LOL. On Food and Wine days, we don't even make ADRS. I couldn't eat my way through Epcot then sit down and eat a dinner. Try it!! ;). We make several go arounds and sample different stuff each time.

And we most absolutely share the plates that way you can sample more. We've gone every year since I can remember.

BFF and I are going this year. Unfortunately, we will only be able to be there for two F&W days. The trip is Sept 22 to 28, so we will have Thur (preview day) and Friday, and if we are lucky a little time on Sat before heading to the airport.

We are planning on going to Epcot at least one day earlier in the week to "normal" Epcot must-have food. Then on the festival days we don't plan to eat anything at all except F&W.

Thanks for the info! I will try for two days. I was wondering about lunch vs dinner so thanks for all great comments about that issue.

Brilliant tactic. I'll be employing that in September.

Is it likely they'll be a soft opening on the Thursday, the night before the official opening? Last time I went (2010) that was the case.

We plan on being in Epcot on Thursday the 26th too! We were trying to avoid the crowds before the start of F&W but I didn't realize this was a preview day! Can anyone tell me more about this "preview" day? What exactly is it and how crowded will it be?

No matter which park we go to in the morning, we always end up at Epcot for lunch and dinner (which we eat from the F&W booths). A week at Disney and we can cover just about all of them - sharing most.

Love the F&W! Some of the kiosks have "larger" portions (Germany's sausage in the pretzel roll and France with the coq a vin) while some I wish would be larger - the lobster pie in Ireland! Depends on how much you normally eat, if you share or pass something you just have to try! Four or five should do it for a day.

There is no way that DH and I could sit down for a full meal after F&W - and after eating around the world it can get pricey doing both F&W and then ADRs.

This is so awesome! What a great family!

In 2012 we were in wdw for 10 days over F&W and rocked. We hopped over to epcot almost every day for lunch at the booths. I would say it took 3-4 dishes to fill me up. I loved the lamb chop from australia, the beef skewers from argentina, the pulled pork slider from hawaii, the fisherman's stew and cheese plate from ireland, the cheese plate from the cheese booth...

Just wanted to add while we do share almost everything at wdw, the portions are really tiny so generally we get our own plates at F&W.

We are going to our first F&W Festival this year and I am trying to plan also, at first I was thinking 2 days but after reading some of the responses I think we may need three days/evenings. I am planning 2 ADRs Via Napoli and Tapaz ? The new Morrocan/Mediteranian. restaurant(if open) if not :confused3 for dinner

I plan sampling the F&W Booths for lunch as someone mentioned starting at 11am when WS opens until about 2. Once this years Menus come out will be so much easier to plan. :)

We (DH & I) do F&W over 3-4 days for lunch. We divide the world into 3-4 sections and do 1 section a day. We get 1 of each food item (and one specialty drink or wine) at each booth and share. Since most booths offer 3 food items, we are definitely full each day so much so that we usually end up splitting a counter service meal for dinner.

I don't do any TS during F&W and I eat lunch and dinner at F&W. I would say 4-6 tasting leave me quite full.
