For anyone thinking of going to this event, I highly recommend it. It was the highlight of the Food & Wine festival and worth the cost.

There are no tickets. Your name is on a list at the concert and/or milleniyum village, and there is no special viewing for Illuminations. There were 16-20 chefs. All of the food was excellent. The best was scallops from Flying Fish. The food was cooked right there and served immediately by the chefs. Bobby Flay was there. The LeCellier chef had beef ribs and cheese grits that tested much better than they sounded. There were at least 30 wineries. Small servings but unlimited.

I can harldy wait to go!!!!!! Thanks for posting.:D

Please, oh please tell me more about it if you can.

We are going to be there this Saturday (10/26) We are leaving tonight for WDW (10/24)

Thanks

Nice guy and good chef. I met him this summer at the Fancy food show in NYC.

anyone know who will be the guest chef this weekend?

I am not sure what more to tell. Try as many of the foods as you can, there is a wide variety and all were good. You will be standing most of the time. There are standup tables. There was always room at several tables and you can meet many people. Not much seating. The deserts were very good, but save them for last. The food is too good to pass up. Lines were short and moved quickly. The party started shortly before 6. Most people stopped eating by 8. Therefore there is no urgency to being there at 6. They did not run out of anything. They give you a single wine glass for the evening. It is a souvenir to keep. Background music was pleasant and not loud.

We were also there on the 26th. Like my sister, my favorite was the escargot. "Ivy" was there, as were two of the statues from France, a living fountain (don't know where that's usually located), and the Japanese women who makes candy animals (she's amazing). She had the longest line in the place. Would make an animal of your choosing, in the color you chose. Really neat! The disappointment was the no special viewing area for Illuminations (we've enjoyed that in the past), but it worked out anyway. The park wasn't terribly crowded and we got an excellent view from the Canada pavilion, even though we left the party after 8:30. I don't think we had any "celebrity" chef. We "parked" ourselves at a little table (there were four of us), and we'd go out and collect a dish and bring it back. EVERYTHING was good! The desserts were fantastic. At the one we went to last year, by the time we went for dessert, a number of them were gone. Not this year - they had plenty! Whoever's going - you'll enjoy it!!:D

we were there on the 26th also. Enjoyed it much more than the previous two years at the Odessy. There was more room and tables to stand or sit at.

It was crowded but not too bad. However, according to a CM, there were still tickets available. I wouldn't want to see one that was sold out.
