F&W events solo?

Has anyone ever done any of the major F&W events solo, like dinners, etc. I've done some culinary deconstrations solo, but never any of the more major programs.

I've been to a French Regional Lunch and a Friends and Family in the Kitchen solo. Nothing different than being injected into any other group of strangers (which I'm spectacularly bad at) but everyone was really nice.

At the FRL I ended up with one of those people at my tables who pretty much carries a conversation all by themselves, so that helped. I also met a couple who ended up at one of the same signature dinners I was at later in the Festival, so we could at least talk a bit comparing thoughts and whatnot.

The Friends and Family thing... well, they had put out toothpicks of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese with honey to dip it in, so I honestly didn't notice anything else that went on.
