Hi! Im from MA. I usually pay cash at the tolls from MCO to Disney, but not sure if that is still a thing. If not, can I bring my EZ Pass transponder from MA? Do I have to rent/purchase one from the rental car company? Any advice is appreciated.

EZ-PASS now works in Florida . .

You can still pay cash a the toll booths if you would like. You could also use your MA EZPass everywhere in FL as of two months ago. Depending on who you rent from you may need to turn off their transponder while you have yours in the vehicle, otherwise the tolls will be charged to both and you will have to pay it.

Not all toll booths accept cash. FL law no longer allows for cash tolls, so any new toll roads and new entrances/exits to existing toll roads must be all electronic tolling (AET). Also, FDOT is slowly rolling out AET to toll roads they own/operate.

I was directly answering OP's question regarding the toll roads from MCO to WDW. Is my statement incorrect for those roads? I suppose I could have worded it better, anywhere you paid cash before you can still pay cash.

So far, yes, but exact change is required if you go past the I-Drive exit on 417.

The entire Turnpike system is gradually switching over to cashless. Turnpike exits in the area that used to take cash are now cashless. This could expand to the Turnpike-operated segments of the 417 and the 528 in the future.
