What are eyelettes and what are they used for?

These are eyelets:
http://store.scrapbook.com/eyelets.html
I use them to adhere vellum or cardstock to a page. I've also used it as an opening to put a beaded wire through.
I've seen them used as the dot in an "i", star shaped ones for decroation, etc. The uses are endless. I know I've seen a book that showed lots of ideas but I don't remember what it was titled.
Go to www.twopeasinabucket.com and click on PeaNut Gallery. Then click on Grommets/Eyelets. Click on the last page and work your way back. There are a few unusual ones.

I'm going to do a cinderella page and attach eyelettes to the four corners and then run ribbon through the eyeletts. My mind is going nuts with so many ideas, I had to right them all down.

I just discovered another fun thing -- nailheads! I found Mickey heads!
You found them??? WHERE????? I've seen them, but every place is sold out and says they're not being made any more... please please please tell me where you found them. (Do I sound desperate enough? ROFL!!)

BTW jlp561, I use eyelets instead of cutting out the center of letters when I use letter templates... it's so much easier to just pop an eyelet in there!

I got mickey heads with my Memories of the Mouse Embellishment Kit from www. cropalong.com. Perhaps they sell them in a pack by themselves, not just in the kit.
