Hmm, I look at all these beautiful LO's using eyelets and now I feel like I gotta try them. Are they hard to use? Can someone run me through the basics, and tell me what I need to buy to get started? Also, what are snaps?

best bet is to check out www.twopeasinabucket.com

You will need eyelets, the hole maker, the setter and a hammer.
Make sure they are all the same size! 1/8 or 3/16ths
first you use the hole maker and hammer to make a hole where you want the eyelet to go -
then slide your eyelet into place - flip your paper over and use the setter and hammer to close the eyelet onto the paper.

nahh, best bet is to get spinning to tell ya how to do it! She is our eyelet queen! :D maggie

Best advice...RUN! From them...they multiply they pull on your shopping strings. Once you get one you need more...it doesn't matter if you use them or not! You just need tons of them...

But seriously....I have become rather fond of eyelets! Thanks to my SS last time around!

basically you just need to buy a kit with a mat, hammer, punch and setter. Then punch a hole where you want it. Pop the eyelet in turn it over get the setter and pound...not too tricky! Just practice a few times!
Have fun!
and once you are hooked, let me know I have some great sites!

Thanks so much, I knew you all would help me. I put a MM eyelet kit on my Christmas list, but I am doing all these cards, and it would be so cool to use eyelets....I could normally play the Chanukkah angle, but it's so late this year....what's a girl to do?? :)

I've been away from scrapping for a couple of years so, What are eyelets, how are they used in layouts?

Take a look at this page, I think it will give you a better answer than I can, a picture being worth a thousand words and all. You may have to click on Eyelets on the nav bar on the left side of the page.
