Eyeglass wearers - how do you replace your nose pads?

They were getting a little bit nasty (they must turn greenish from skin oils) so I tried cleaning them on my current pair which are otherwise in good shape. But these had silicone over plastic push-in nose pads that were a huge pain to remove. They just wouldn't come out without a good deal of force, and I eventually got them out with some damage, including slightly bending the center plastic piece and where the silicone was loose. This morning I couldn't figure out why they felt so weird and found that the silicone part had come off. I found a replacement I had at home (more on that later) but it wasn't ideal.

I think years ago I got some replacement nose pads cheap, but they were these combination push-in and screw in that looked kind of odd. But I bought them in a pinch. Not sure where to get any. I'm wondering if anyone her knows of any reasonably priced source. They're pretty generic, so I don't care if they look exactly the same. Maybe even a multi-pack since I'm probably going to be replacing them fairly often given how hard they are to clean.

I know I can probably go to an optician but I bought these online cheap (like $80) to replace a pair that had broken, and just transferred the lenses. They probably wouldn't do it for free. My original optician actually replaced the originals twice, even out of warranty. They were Flex-On brand and even though I didn't play around with the bending aspect much, I found they broke after doing mundane things where just a little bit of contact and they just broke at the center. After the second time I just went with older glasses, but eventually the lenses got too worn to safely wear. I've tried using the old nose pads, but those were kind of messed up and I found the one I inserted fell out (can't find it now).

Most optical dispensaries will replace the nose pads for free if you just ask. Take them to wherever you bought them and ask for the nose pads to be replaced. They have a tool to use to secure the push-in type. Takes about 5 minutes.

I actually bought a little plastic case with nose pads/extra screws/tiny cleaning cloth at the Dollar Tree. On one of those spinning racks where they display the sunglasses & such. Packaged like those tiny sewing kits you see around.
I have had pads replaced where I bought my glasses before.

You might want to try calling your nearest Walmart Vision Center. Pre-pandemic, I was able to get my glasses fixed (and nose pads replaced, I think) at a nearby Walmart, even though I hadn't bought my glasses there. I don't remember the cost, but it was low or maybe free.

I buy felt nose pads. Easy on and easy off.

That's where I go. Just hit th eWAlmart - they're like 3 bucks and they will put them on for you too.

When I was in Japan, I lost a nose pad, and it was really annoying me. We went into a Bic Camera Store, which is like a really large departement store, and they had an optical counter. I just walked up and pointed to the missing nose pad, and the man pleasantly helped me with no words exchanged. In some areas, English is not as common, but it worked.
