Eye-Fi Memory Cards

Anybody got any experience using a Eye-Fi memory card at WDW to geotag your pictures? As I understand it, the card senses nearby WiFi networks and uses that data to determine its location which is then encoded in the picture file.

I know that there are lots of closed wifi networks at WDW (my iPhone "sees" them), I'm wondering if the Eye-fi card can determine its location just from seeing these networks.

If it is using the same system as the apple wifi on the iphone and ipads for using near by wifi devices to determine location on the maps then it should. I just won an 8gb Eye-fi and have been testing it out, haven't gone outside of known networks yet.

According to the Eye-fi web site it should work. I'm hoping for some real-life experience here.

It is kind of a battery hog, but you already have what you need to geotag your shots using your phone's GPS. I have Android, but I am sure that there is a GPS logging app for iPhone. You then can use the Java program from http://geotag.sourceforge.net/ to embed the location into the file.

I have an eye-fi card and I find it extremely useful, but not for geotagging, may camera has a GPS builtin, that being said, sometimes the camera's GPS hasn't caught up and it seems that eye-fi corrects it only when the builtin gps is wrong. I am not 100% sure how it works, it just does.

I have the eye-fi card that has a directmode and allows ad-hoc icoonections, what I like doing is connecting to my iPhone, taking panorama pictures with my camera, then using an app on my phone to stitch them together.
