So I think its time to use some better face products, including eye cream.

Looking for a Retinol (with Peptides I think?) to smooth and firm (if that's really possible LOL)

Prefer something that doesn't break the bank.

Appreciate your thoughts!

:goodvibes

Whole foods diet, sleep, exercise, water, coconut oil [inside and out!] This works 100 times better for me than years of Retin-A therapy ever did!

I use RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. It retails for $19.99 for one ounce. It seems pricey, but I always find it on sale at my local grocery store and there are always manufacturer coupons online that would bring it down to about $15 or less. I use it nightly to help with fine lines around my eyes and one ounce lasts me about 3 months.

Like PP mentioned, there are "natural" ways to help too. I have noticed a huge difference when I stay hydrated, moisturize daily, and limit my salt and starches.

I like Olay products but also am a firm believer in lots of water, little sodium and I use coconut oil every night to cleanse my skin.

Thanks, all.

ITA. I do exercise (run) lots of water, and I eat fairly well.

I used Renova (RX) for about 5 years with fantastic results. But its now way out of our budget with our new adjusted insurance.

Looking for something to replace it at night. I use OLAY during the day too, and agree it's likely one of the best -- especially for the price.

Any other ideas out there for something to replace RENOVA?

TIA!!!

Neutrogena (inexpensive at Target, etc.)
Alpha hydroxys in the AM (with sunscreen)

Retinol at night.

(I will occasionally find Olay or ROC with same active ingredients)

My mother & I started this regimen about 10 years ago. I am 48, she is 70. I have recently passed for mid-30s & she for late 50s. Neither of us were sun worshippers when younger although we have been in sun more the last 10 years due to baseball. (always with sunscreen). Additionally I apply this to neck/decolletage & the back of hands. The hands are where I REALLY can see the effects--my arms are freckled/sun damaged but the backs of my hands are still smooth with very few & faded sunspots.

We are not neurotic about food or exercise BUT we are relatively active & try to make good food choices most of the time.

And HYDRATE. I have a LARGE mug of brewed iced green tea all afternoon, and a glass of water by my side at all times in the evening.

Read Dr. Harold Lancer's book Younger, http://www.amazon.com/Younger-Breakthrough-Anti-Aging-Method-Radiant/dp/1455548901

I learn a lot from that book (I got my copy from the library). He has practical advice with high end products, mid range products and products that you can get at Walmart/Kroger. I spent $30 6 weeks ago on a scrub, cleanser and cream based on his recs. My skin has never looked better and that is a strong statement since I have tried everything over the last twenty years.

He does suggest what everyone else said, sleep, diet, exercise makes all the difference. Plus he recommended the Neutrogena products the poster above metnioned.

He has suggestions for Retinols and every type of skin problem. He is very anti plastic surgery, botox and filler crap.

Thanks for your reply. Can you say what this new product line is called?

I've been using the Avon eye cream for $35. Other brands tend to make my eyes water and become irritated but Avon brand is mild. I forget the name, but it's in a 1oz orange container.

Not sure if they have retinol, but I've had good luck with Loreal RevitaLift products. You can buy most of their lotions at Target, Walmart, or on Amazon prime for under $20.

Here's another vote for ROC...$19.99 and it lasts a few months.. Totally notice when I run out of it and stop using it for a while.

I also like Revlon Eterna Cream for daytime use. Nice and light and absorbs easily so your face isn't greasy. But I can only find it at Walgreens which is not jear me so I stock up when I see it.

I got a Rx from my doctor for Retin-A. Insurance does not cover it but you don't use it every night and only use a very small amount when I do. A tube of the generic cost about $90. Tube lasts me about a year. I have used many beauty products in my day. Very few work this good or are this cheap. Would not change!
