Ok, my enounters.

When I worked for United Airlines, I met a few and saw many.

Per my previous post, I don't always realize when they are standing in front of me. I was checking in a tall dark haired gentlemen. He was very pleasant and didn't mind that I was double checking his ID. After he boarded the plane, my co-worker came running up to me singing "Its not unusual to be loved by anyone..." Yep, Tom Jones. It didn't even click when I was looking at his ID.

Another while at the airport, we got a call to hold the plane. There was a passenger running late, and since this was the last plane of the night, we were asked to hold it. Well here comes one of the other agents helping this obviously drunk man down the hall. None other than David Carradine of Kung Fu fame. He was so drunk he could hardly stand. I really can't believe they allowed him to fly.

Saw many of the SF 49rs many times. Saw Air Force One many times, but they would never let us anywhere near the plane. They even blocked all take offs and landings for 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after thier landing.

I've met many soap opera stars. A few years ago, they tried having a super soap weekend in CA. I went each time and always stayed at the Grand Californian. That allowed us to 'run' into many of the stars away from the park. Many were very gracious when I spoke to them, a few were stand off-ish. The best encounter was with Kiko Ellsworth who played Jamal in the now cancelled Port Charles. My son and I stood in line to get his autograph and he took a lot of time chatting with my son. A press photographer took many pictures and had me sign a release. One of the pictures ended up being featured in the next issue of Soaps in Depth. But what made it really great was that the rest of the day, whenever Kiko saw him, he'd waive of stop and say hi.

How many of you have met a "star" in person and/or got an autograph? What was your experience like?

here goes mine

I met Willie Nelson and his band once back in NY in the 80's, they signed autogrpahs and Willie kissed me..I about was in heaven then too. I saw Sylvester Stalone that same day, just my bf and I and we walked over and said hi to him, but he denied he was sylvester..I was not impressed with him at all(and back then i thought he was pretty hot) but his personality s*cked. I could see if there were tons of us around, but it was just me and my bf..it was kind of behind the scenes going to parking lots, if you saw the car the guy got into you would know he was lying to us.
I also met george carlin once at a college, he signed autograph..nothing fancy, but he wasn't rude either.

i've met all 5 of the Backstreet Boys and even talked to AJ on the phone once. The Verve Pipe. K's Choice. Giles, Tara, Jonathan, Warren, Andrew(the trio), Helfrek, and Lorne from Buffy/Angel(Giles and Tara kissed me, and Warren said i was hott......it was a good birthday!). oh and Weird Al too.

most of them were all really sweet. the only one that seemed kind of "eh" was Nick from the Backstreet Boys. didn't seem like he really cared to be there. AJ was a total sweetheart. looked me in the eye and shook my hand and said "thank you so much for coming" and when i talked to him on the phone he called me a sweetheart(i almost died!).

i SHOULD tell the phone story, actually. DF had taken me to see one of their concerts last year(the small club tour) in Ohio. we parked the car a ways away from the venue and were waiting in line to eat. i told DF to go get the car and park it closer because it was a strange place(with tons of homeless people on every corner, i kid you not) and it would be dark out when we got out so i waited for a table while he went to get the car. i wanted to stay on the phone with him so i knew he was ok. he kept hanging up on me tho! he'd keep saying "HOLD ON!" and he'd hang up the phone. and i'd keep calling him back. at one point i called him back and he says "i think i just saw AJ!"......."WHAT!?!?!" *click* .....oh NO he didn't! so i waited a minute and i called him back. now, mind you, this venue was at a House of Blues. so if you ate inside the restaurant, you could get in the concert 15 minutes before the public(and it was standing room only). so there's me surrounded by about 100 other fans.

so i call DF back one last time and i hear him say "hold on" again and the whole time i'm like "mother effer, if he hangs up on me one more time i'll kill him!" so then i hear someone in the backround that isn't DF say "sure!" and i hear "Hello, Kristy?" ........oh my god........AJ from the Backstreet Boys was talking to me! we had a nice little conversation and the whole time i had to keep reminding myself "don't let ANYONE else know who's on the phone with you if you want to stay alive." so finally he gets off and i hang up and i have this HUGE smile on my face and these girls i had been talking to earlier were standing there and i go "omg GUESS who i just talked to?" and i told them and of course they were all saying "yeah, right, sure" didn't believe a word i had said. .....that is until DF came back to the restaurant to wait with me with an autographed cd of mine! then of course, they all wanted to be my bes friend. i whispered to DF "don't let anyone else see that cd if you want to live to tomorrow!" because i knew people would pratically kill him for it.

DF carved the Jack one and i carved the Harry Potter one......which i will NEVER do again because that one was SO hard to do. the hardest one i've ever had to do ever. it looks really cool, but was so hard to do. all those little peices and then they're hanging on by a thread basically.

DF liked the Jack one. at one point he says to me "Hey hun, i'm doing your guy.......wait.....no that didn't come out right!"

Sorry I've been MIA tonight. But I just got done making all my arrangements for next weekend. I'M GOING BACK TO DISNEYLAND!! I had such a horrible trip a few weeks ago and I need to get the magic back. I'll be there for 3 days all by myself. Yes, I'm leaving the pirate DS at home with grandma. I've gone for 1 day solo before but never multi-days. I can't wait. It will probably be my last trip for a long time since I have to save up my vacation time next year for my Paris/DCL Cruise trip in August.

And I can see Mr Depp is very happy about my trip too....

I'm going to end the night with this pic. It's my favorite right now. I know it's not close and you can't see his eyes, and he doesn't have that melt your heart smile. But as I've said many times, I'm a sucker for the black and white photos.

thanks! Halloween is my favorite holiday so EVERY year i look forward to carving pumpkins and EVERY year when it finally comes time to do it i'm cursing and throwing pumpkin guts everywhere.

while i was doing the HP one the whole time i kept saying "this looks bad, this looks really bad" but when i put light in it, it looked awesome.

i also did a Jack Skellington one the other day and DF did the alien from The Simpsons.
