LOL...we both posted threads on this at the same time! I hope we get to see them shown on the cruise!

Is this the one with the autistic child or the one with an older teenager in a wheelchair ?

Neither..its a house on Long Island where some contractor screwed this family over, ripped their house apart, took the money and split...its a mom and 2 boys.

Cool, This was from the Aug. 19 Wonder Cruise. We were on it and saw them filming! We kept wanting to talk to the boys but did not have the nerve.

I saw it, I missed the beginning but the mom had slept on the couch for the past 12 years and a contractor had left them hanging - they had started renovations and destroyed their house and it was not livable. I am not sure if the mom was also doing good deeds. Like I said, I missed the beginning. They did not show them much on the cruise.

Tonight at 8:00 Eastern time, they are doing a "How we do that" show for Extreme Home Makeover. We really enjoy this show and love when they send the family to something 'Disney'. It will be on ABC tonight.

The Mom adopted the two boys as babies. They were both born addicted to drugs and has raised them on her own.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition is one of my favorite shows. Each time I think there can't be a more deserving family, they surprise me with a new family that needs help. I think it's cool that they can do these renovations in one week, but the fact that they do it for such deserving families is what makes this show so special. Bravo to ABC and Disney (and Sears) for a great show. Keep up the good work!

I agree. This is one show that we can all watch together as a family and enjoy. It is the only 'reality' type show we watch.

I wish there were more shows like this on TV.

we had never heard of the show, until our neighbor worked it (as the building inspector) for the family who's 6 year old daughter had a heart transplant at 11 days old. We waited 2 months for that episode to air, and have been hooked ever since. :)

We watch the show every week. I have to admit that I love Ty Pennington. He would make me crazy with those update calls.
Last night's show was great. I agree with the previous poster, you think that there is no way that they can find a more deserving family. What a dream(s) come true for those families.

KUDOS TO ABC & Sears!!!!!!

Have to agree with all of the above -- great show, wonderful families, and what beautiful homes!

It was a lot of fun to catch a glimpse of the Magic at port at CC, and to see the kids having fun on Deck 9.

Did you catch Ty Pennington's announcement of where they were going? "Disney cruise to a private island in the Bahamas..." At first, I thought they must have gone on some special cruise, and just to CC for several days.

I have to say, Ty Pennington is a great testament to those of us with kids who have ADHD. He has turned his symptomatology around to work for him!!

Whaaaa! I missed all but the last 10 minutes of the show.....due to President Bush hamming it up in Ohio. I really wanted to see that one too!! :sad1:

By far, the best "reality" show out there- it makes me cry every time I watch it. I missed last night and I'm so upset. (those darn kids wanted to go trick or treating, can you imagine??":teeth:

Thank god we have Tivo! We just watched last night's episode about 15 minutes ago. Did anyone else ever wonder that when the family goes into the house for the reveil, is the paint still wet? Tile not quite set? Would the paint get on the furniture? Do they give them a warranty? Okay, I'll stop now!

I have not seen this episode, yet. Anyone know of a rerun date?
