This show was awesome! I did not particularly like the colors, or design(for my taste) but it was beautiful what they did with the house. And what a dream backyard for 3 boys! I was crying so with the dad coming home that I almost forgot it is Sunday night (almost). Great show. Oh and Ty in the car wash shower was ok with me too!!!;)

Thank goodness it was Ty and not Tommy L. in the shower.

I love this show. Wow, what a difference they make. The kids bedroom with the moving wall was fantastic. That backyard was terrific too.

DH & I both commented on how they didn't show enough of the work they were doing or the finished result.

Instead, it was alot about designers egos..... :(

And of course, a skin (or should I say ab) shot of Ty in the shower at the end. Geesh!

Should have espected it. It wasn't HGTV or TLC. Isn't it ratings time?

Being a military couple, I was glad the family got to see their dad....but I hate when shows USE that stuff for ratings.

I thought it was great...the best part is when the kids said...
The best part is my Dad being home! I'll admit it ...I was crying too!

(didn't really care for the color schemes or the design but hey...it was FREE!

I had never seen the show before.......it was a major bonus seeing Ty. *drool*

It was a great show, very touching to see how everyone was beaming that the dad was home (like the design team and the contractors). It was very cool! I loved loved loved the backyard! When Tommy walked out I was thrilled - always a Dodger fan and I love Tommy Lasorda!!

The shower scene . . . . . . woooooohooooooo. yeah baby!!

I had never watched this show before, but my mom was watching it tonight. I really liked what they did with the house. And my parents and I thought that it was really sweet that they got to see their dad!

They did not advertise that they would be bringing the dad home so I dont think that was there intentions on trying to get ratings.Oh BTW,I loved the shot of Ty in the shower.

I was definetly crying too,Even DH had a tear in his eye:o

Three cheers to ABC and Sears and all the others who are doing this great show. Finally a "reality" program that spends the money on something worthwhile and worth watching.

I kind of had the impression that they knew the dad was there..did you see the way she went around him to hug him? So the camera angle stayed open?

I think they may have staged it too, but staged 'after' he came in and they had the candid shots. Kinda like - "Ok, that's nice, you're back together, now can you all come back over here and run back to him and hug him and NOT ruin our shot pretty please?"

I also wish that they did more of hw the stuff is done, and not the designers, but then they're going after a different audience. They're going after the million people that love watching reality TV, not the 50,000 that like to watch Monster House or Monster Garage on TLC.

I think the wife recognized him near immediately, but was waiting for him to take the mask off before aproaching. The kids didn't recognize him right away with the mask on and I think she sensed a surprise at hand, but the kids weren't surprised yet. Does that make sense?

Anyway, I loved the whole thing! The colors, the redesign. Just AWESOME!

Loved the show!! My DH even watched it. What an amazing job they did. I thought the designers arguing was a little much but I'll be watching again. Does this mean that Ty isn't on Trading Spaces anymore?? What a cutie!

Loved it too! I don't think they knew until they saw him. When she saw the "man in the catcher's mask" she looked like she recognized him right away, but waited for the mask to come off to be sure. Then she darted around everybody to get to him.

The whole show was great and I enjoyed the designers comments and conflicts. We work in the construction industry so it was funny to see those conflicts on TV, we could definetly relate. I wouldn't want this to become a step-by-step "how to" show, there are enough of those already.

We also laughed at the Disney<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_12_2.gif' border=0></a> tie-ins, but still loved that part.

Two thumbs up from me!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_204.gif' border=0></a>

Can't wait for the next one!

My best friend was visiting this weekend and we were watching the show last night. We both kept thinking...how can he be home for a week and not be with his wife and kids. My girlfriend said to me "a week a disneyland by yourself with 3 kids isn't really a vacation". That part wouldn't have bother me...disney is always a vacation!!. Think about how his Mom was when she said "you have been home 3 days and you didn't call your mother". I kept wanted to see when his wife found out that he had been home a week!! I think the better suprise would have been they got to Disneyland and Dad was at the hotel. What a waste of a week the family could have been together.
