Just wondering if anyone else noticed this. I'm watching Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, on April 4.

Ty just announced they were sending the family to "The Walt Disney Resort in Orlando Florida". Seems to me he typically says "Walt Disney World".

Just wondering if there was something behind the change. Anyone heard anything?

Boy we are certainly grasping at straws if we think just because somebody not even involved with Disney says something different it may mean something. I've actually heard Ty say it both ways in the past so it really doesn't mean anything. It certainly doesn't mean there's going to be another Walt Disney World built in _______ (insert state name you want)!

Just hopping in to say that I noticed that too, but I didn't think too much of it. And technically, he does have a lot to do with Disney. ABC is owned by Disney, and he's the host of an ABC show. :)

"Another Walt Disney World"???????? Where did that come from?

No, I wasn't grasping at any straws. That show is very much involved with Disney, the ABC network is owned by Disney. And they are promoting Disney properties all the time. Marketing folks are usually particular about the wording of things like that, and I haven't previously notice Walt Disney World being called "The Walt Disney Resort in Orlando Florida". I was simply wondering if that was an intentional change in the naming of Walt Disney World.

Not sure how that translates into anything about building another park anywhere. No need to read between the lines, there's no hidden message. Just simple curiosity.

I didn't see Extreme Makeover Home Edition on Sunday, but I just chimed in to say that I have heard him announce the name that way before.

I always get excited when they send a family there. It means I get to see a bit of the magic.

Maybe he said it that way so some people who are not as Disney-knowledgeable won't think Disneyland in California. I know people that when I have mentioned going to Disney World they ask me "Florida or California?" Depending on who they are and how well they can handle the ribbing, I explain that there is only one Disney WORLD - that DisneyLAND is California. So maybe it's just for clarfication.....

To the PP I get folks asking me "Florida or California" maybe their just trying to avoid the confusion. :happytv:

Or he said it because it's free advertising for Disney. I mean, if you tell your customer the location of your park, don't you think it would generate more interest (Google searches, etc)?
