We will have our truck and one other vehicle (son's car) with us at FW. Where will we need to park it and will they give us a parking permit for that vehicle as well?
Thanks!

The rules I read on my last trip to the fort (25 May 09) stated 1 vehicle is allowed at your site. Any additional vehicles can be parked in the overflow lot. Of course, I also saw this rule being broken over and over during our stay. One site had 4 vehicles parked in it, plus the TT and a tent.

Normaly I would not have a problem with this. But FW is tight in some loops and the one we were in was probably the worst (1900). With all of the water and such, folks were parking on the pavement which made for some interesting menuavers by the big rigs. One guy couldnt even get his fiver backed in because there were too many cars parked in the way.

We saw this as well on our trip- and I thought I'd remembered it mentioned here that only ONE vehicle allowed at each site! But I saw many with a golf cart, 2 vehicles (occasionally more strategically placed around the site where they could... areas that weren't like rivers LOL) and I witnessed the same issues you mentioned seeing. It appears this is a rule that they aren't really enforcing......

Yes, the RULES are there to be broken.

Saw more than allotted vehicles parked at site this past weekend during our stay along with dogs taking rides in golf carts. DW saw an under 10yo child driving a DISNEY golf cart and I saw people walking their dog right past the "Please No Pets Beyond This Point" signs.

Actually the "no dogs on carts" rule changed when they put the dog park in a year ago January. It's now "leashed dogs are allowed" on carts. But they still are not allowed past the "no pets" signs, and I've seen my share of people walking/carrying little dogs past the "No Pets" signs in the past too. :sad2:

Oh there are entire threads about kids driving carts around and the ensuing antics. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.....:scared:

No pets may ride in Golf Carts at anytime.

Hmm... that's new since December. Thanks for the update.

Very strange though - if they're putting dogs all over the place, it's going to be mighty tough for the folks in most of the loops to use the dog park without walking a pretty far distance to/from. I wonder why the change??

I wonder if maybe they handed out an old form. Is there a date at the bottom of the one they gave you?

That is odd. I just broke out my rental agreement from December and there was no mention of pets anywhere on it. I sure hope PP had been given an older form and not a newer one!

:santa:

Yeah, me too. I know nothing we got in December said "no dogs on carts" and AKAIK the rule was changed back in Jan'08 when the dog park opened. :confused3

Makes me glad we've got a Preferred Pet ressie again for November - meaning most likely the 300 loop again - which should put us right near the park.

ok, so now I'm super curious.....

Anyone at the Fort now (or recently) that can confirm if the paperwork being given out is current and if there really has been a change to the "leashed pets on golf carts" rule?

I just read the Release and Indemnity Agreement I signed in May. It does not say anything about pets on golf carts.

Good to hear, thanks!

It actually wouldn't make any sense for them to reverse that rule now that the dog park is there - otherwise a huge number of pet loops really wouldn't be able to realistically use it.

Which doesn't mean they wouldn't do it anyway. As we all know, not all their rules make sense.

I just spoke to a CM at THE OUTPOST and inquired about dogs in GOLF CARTS. His answer was no dogs allowed in carts at any time.

The written information I received that stated this policy was on a separate piece of paper directed at GOLF CARTS. Could FW have changed the policy within the last 5 days? Possibly, so I would suggest another call to the Outpost to see what answer you get. Whether leashed or not, there is added liability involved with a pet as a passenger in a golf cart that is not enclosed.

Give the Fort a call.

I should of ask when I called earlier about pets in tents. I'm curious if we will get the same answer. I may call tomorrow just to see.

Not to take the thread even further off-topic, BUT what did they say about pets in your tent? And are you in a partial site? I'd be very interested in the answer. Thanks!

It is being discussed on another thread. She said pets are not allowed in tents anytime.
