Extra tickets-what can I do?

Hello. I'm wondering if someone can help me with this. Last year, our family of 3 went to WDW. We got our 7 day tickets through our airmiles program. Then, Disney had the offer for free dining, so we each purchased a one day ticket in order to get the deal. This year we want to get the dining plan again, so we will have to get our tickets as part of the package. We will be getting 7 day hoppers. It doesn't make sense for us to get 6 days and use our 1 days from last year because that would only be a savings of $3 per person. Following?

Is there anything we can do with those 3-1 day tickets from last year? I would hate to not ever use them, but I can't think of how to use them that makes sense. :headache:

They should be on your old room keys if they were part of a package. That means that your names are also on them already. You won't be able to give them away, since technically, tickets are non-transferrable.

What you can do is take them to Guest Relations for a ticket upgrade. Use them towards the purchase of new passes with more days on them. If not for this vacation, then for one sometime in the future. Of course, that means spending more money when you're on vacation this time, but it will be one less thing to purchase on your next trip.

Would this idea work?

When you purchase the package, you can get 1 day tickets as they do not have to match the number of nights you stay.

Then take the 2 one day tickets you will now have and apply them to a 7 day ticket.

WARNING-I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT VALUE YOU WILL GET OUT OF THE TICKETS AND HOW THE MATH COMES OUT.

THere are others here who can probably tell you if that is the right thing to do or not cost wise.

We bought a package with AAA and because we still had 7 days left from a hopper I bought for a weekend trip in November we only had to buy a one day pass. Allsion is correct in that the tickets you purchase don't have to match the number of nights - but the dining package does have to match the number of nights.

.
Given leftover 1 day tickets from the last vacation and booking a new package also requiring at least 1 day tickets -- you are better off buying full length tickets with the latest package and saving the previous 1 day tickets for further off in the future.

It is also possible to order 1 day tickets with the latest package, save them, and upgrade the older 1 day tickets to cover this vacation but here you don't get the advance purchase discount.

You may not combine two or more short tickets, perhaps add cash, and end up with one longer ticket.

Separate one day tickets are best used as-is on weekend visits (3 or fewer days).
