Advice please
We just purchased 200 points resale BCV with a February use year. There are 200 points banked from 2016. We will not be able to use all the points this year due to other commitments. What are my best options for them? I looked at a couple rental companies and they seem to have minimums that I won't meet. I have BCV booked which will use 123 points. Hope to move that reservation to Poly which would use either 148 (standard view) or 177 (lake view) since I have some extra points this year and may not have the chance again. What do I do with the extra points that I can't bank? And would I be better off with 52 or 23 points to unload?
I hope this makes sense. Thanks for your ideas.

Take a longer vacation or stay at a resort with a larger room.

You should have no issues being able to rent out 50+ points (assuming you have that many left over). Anything under that might be a bit harder to find a reservation with that little points. One of the rental stores currently has 4 listings open for ressies ~50 points and lower. If you monitor the open listings carefully, you should be able to sell 90%+ of those points.

I've rented out low points - single nights - before when I've had just a few left. It's never been a problem. I figure a person buys DVC to use it for their stays so do that then take what you don't use and see what you can do with it - in this case rent out for a night or two.

Thanks everyone. Since I can't stay longer and don't want to use points from this year, I'll have to rent them. I'll look at some different rental companies that might deal with a lower number of points.

It doesn't hurt to contact them to let them know what you have to offer. I think BCV is one of the more popular resorts, so it's likely to have a higher demand for points. From what I have read, many brokers have more requests than the number of available points to fill those requests. Hence, it wouldn't make sense for them to turn away points, especially if you offer enough to get at least 2 nights for a reservation.

You could also do an RCI deposit but if you do, make sure you understand the specifics prior. I'd rent them.

RCI could work but you would need to deposit at least 80 points. You could borrow or purchase OTUP's to make up the difference. Then you get an additional 2 years with RCI to use the points. Keep in mind that you wont be able to book anything within 50 miles of Dis. when you do use them.

You should be able to rent them out, through a broker, or on here. I think enough points for a weekend trip will be easy to rent out. You might loose a few to breakage because it will be hard to rent out an EXACT number of points with a small amount.

If there are any points to be borrowed, I would so that all of the expiring points would be used rather than lost. That's actually what I did when I bought my loaded contract.
