Ok, the kids and I are heading down at the end of the month. Huband was not coming. Now he thinks that he can make it down for 3 nights. So I call CRO to find out the rules. I just have to tell front desk about it when I check in.( so he can get a room key and security) No extra charge because we will be only 4 people. Then the CM says if I buy him the same tickect we have that he will have free dining. I am not looking for him to get dining when he is not there only the days he is there. (no flames, not trying to cheat the system.) Is this the right info?

We would save the 6 day ticket because he would only go to the park 2 days and I have left over tickets at home.

I have a similar situation with a niece possibly joining us. I was told that I must make the change at least 3 days in advance and pay for her ticket in advance or she would not get the dining. And to do it within 10 days ( I think) to avoid a processing fee (10$, I think.)

Also, you could just buy him a 1-day ticket if that works better for you. Then upgrade it later or not, depending.

I'm not sure that you can buy him a 1 day ticket because I believe that everybody in the room must be on the same package.Meaning,if you and the kids have 6 days then he also has to have a 6 day ticket in order for you to receive the free dinning.I could be wrong but maybe another poster know for sure.

If that's the case, you can buy everyone a 1-day ticket and just upgrade those that need upgrading.

this is correct. And if you downgrade your tickets to one day after the 45 day mark, you are subject to the $50 processing fee (generally not charged for an upgrade). If you decided to do this then you could just have 1 day for all then upgrade each to the appropriate days when you get there.

*AND* you bought your tickets at the reduced rate, going w/a one day and updating it at wdw would have you paying the new increased rate... buy him the six day ticket to correspond with yours and keep it for a future trip!

do you think i will pay the old or the new rate for his ticket?

So how much would it be for an extra adult in a room (we will have 3 in a room with 2 adults and one teen so they said we wouldn't have to pay extra for him) but my dad has decided to come..could I add him to the room and get free dining?

That depends which resort you are at. I believe for most of them it's $25/night for additional adults. This doesn't apply to DVC places such as OKW. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Also you have to give the hotel a little bit of notice- I think they told me 3 days min.

I just added my daughter a couple days ago, and they gave me the old rate on her ticket.

Just to clarify -- you'd have to buy your dad a park ticket the same as yours, plus probably pay a hotel charge per night to add him- again, depending which hotel you are at.
