Extra night hours in Parks?

I'm sure this has been discussed here before so please excuse this question again. I don't fully understand the evening hours concept. Concerning price and how are the crowds? Is it worth going to? Could someone please explain? Also is the dates out yet for the extra hours in April?

The concept to extra hours in the evening is its only open to Disney Resort Guest. So its a bonus for staying at a Disney Resort. They give you up to 3 hours after the park closes to everyone else to enjoy the rides.

There is no added price involved, but you must be staying at Disney Resort. The crowds I have heard mixed. Some nights they are rather busy and others very slow. Since easter is early this year you should be decent in April.

We will be there the last week of April. Yes we are staying on site @ Pop. We will be traveling with 2-6 year olds and a 4 year old which MK would be there favorite park. So we plan on spending 1 1/2 days @ MK. I don't know if we should do the extra hours or go to Epcot that night with the thought most people would be at MK so Epcot would be less crowded.

I am trying to make our itinuary and have changed it several times so far. It is just so confusing. I even bought the UFGB and went with there suggestion only to read the updated version and changed it again.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
