Extra money inside the parks

Are there any rides inside the parks that require extra money to ride? I know at Six Flags there are a few rides where you hace to pay to ride them even though you have paid your park entrance. Just trying to prepare.

Nope (other then games at Chester and Hesters Dimo-rama) It was against Walt's philosophy.

backing up what 4orm said - nope, except that cheesie carnie area in AK. and it isn't the rides there that are extra - just he carnie games.

(don't get me wrong, i love a fair/carnival as much as the next cat - love them actually. but i pay plenty to get in the front gates at a WDW park and like knowing that my financial drain for the day is over - unless of course i choose to eat there or buy souvies.)

There are also arcade type games at Pizza Planet at MGM and the Shooting Gallery in MK. Both are pay as you play.

Thanks!! I just didn't want to get all the way to the front of a line only to find out that I would have to pay $10 for their safety equipment or something like that.

Whew......that's a relief.

As all the other posters have noted: once you enter the park everything inside that park is for you to enjoy at no additional cost.
The only exceptions, as noted, are any games....although they are free in Innoventions in Epcot and they used to have some interesting games inside one of the buildings by City Hall (maybe it was City Hall). A couple of years ago we were waiting for E-night to start and we ended up staying inside that building playing and watching old Disney cartoons. Didn't even realize what was in there.
Anyway, outside of food, you are all set. Since you can charge most food inside of WDW to a credit card or your resort room key you really don't need a lot of cash inside the gates.

I'm at a loss to understand how this was against Walt's philosophy since during his lifetime ALL rides at DL (WDW didn't even exist), with a few exceptions (usually something sponsored like CoP or Adventure through Inner Space), required a cost after paying to get into the park?

Well, the parks used to have a small entry fee, then you bought ticket books. The tickets were lettered A through E and the bigger and more unique the ride, the farther in the alphabet the ticket required. The cost still ended up being relatively similar (inflation adjusted) to what we pay now for an all-access pass. So, different from now, but not necessarily a "pay as you go" policy.
