Extra magic? Not really.

But they did inform you they were doing it. I posted about it several months ago when the update to MDE came out and the notice first appeared. So I'm not sure what you are saying they are doing without your permission.

ETA - it was weeks, not months. Time flies

I've only had iPhones so maybe other operating systems behave differently but typically when apps accesss hardware like the camera they pop up a warning at least the first time. And if you look at the wording on the release notes it says "The app will request access to the camera for ...". Ditto for location services. But the terminology in the paragraph describing the blue tooth feature says "This app now uses wifi and Bluetooth" which implies to me it is not going to request access to BT. (I tried to copy the exact language but my phone is not cooperating). Have I been informed, yes. Have I given permission, technically yes by using the app. But it is standard (again at least on iPhone) for apps to request access to hardware and Disney is doing it for other features but not this. It makes me wonder why.

Just got back Tuesday from an 8 day trip. Went to MK on Monday. The park was slammed! Space Mountain was at a 110 minute wait after the castle show and Wishes. Fast Pass line was backed up significantly. Took around 30 minutes to ride with Fadt Pass. Wait times were pretty much spot on the entire week from what we experienced. DD and her friend got in stand by line at Test Track on NYE wait time posted was 180 minutes. They waited every minute of the wait time.
How many of those rides were at or near park close? Because that's what I was referring to.

Splash is inconsistent as to being open for PM EMH or not.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Wow. I didn't know that. We got hit with a disappointing NO. That makes planning problematic.

That was about an hour or so before park close for Space Mountain. Test Track was about an hour and a half wait at close on NYE, if I recall correctly. We opted to wait for Mission Space instead since the wait was shorter, to let the NYE crowds thin out.
