My husband and I are going to Disney in October- his third trip, my first- and it will be during our 12th wedding anniversary. I ordered a gift for him from Disney Floral to be delivered to our room, and bought him a new Hawaiian shirt for the occasion (he loves them) and will be asking Donald Duck, his favorite character, to send him a postcard. Do you have any other ideas for fun "extra magic"? Keep it clean! :-)

If's in your budget an unforgettable meal at Victoria and Albert's, a behind the scenes tour, Wishes from the California grill, carriage ride thru Fort Wilderness, and of course a Happy Anniversary button from City Hall are very romantic Disney magic.

We are having our anniversary dinner at Jiko (couldn't get V&A), and we're doing the Wild Africa Trek. I love all the other ideas! I guess what I'm looking for are simple fun things, like a little gift or something uniquely Disney, not necessarily anything expensive or "showy." Like, little souvenirs, or little gifts.

you could go a cruise during the fireworks - they might be sold out already.

are you going to MNSSHP? that can be fun!!!

This may sound goofy, but I love doing things like that for DH. On one trip, I got Disney Dollars and snuck them into his wallet when he was asleep on the first night so he when he went to buy something the next day at Disney he had surprise Mickey Money in his wallet! :goodvibes

Pricey, but a private wishes cruise is the most magical thing I have done there. So worth it!

On a budget find hidden mickeys, try on clothes and hats at the different WS countries, do meet and greets, and try for a pearl in China, do his favorite ride twice, and view the water parade at the Polynesian.

Get a spa treatment together, do an afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian, get the VIP package to your favorite park, do the luaua show and let him wear his Hawaiian shirt, and get a memory maker package.

the most romantic thing i did while in WDW was have a stroll along the river/lake in POR one evening. It was so romantic as it was May and the flowers were all in bloom.

It was so perfect.

These are great ideas! We're going to Disney for our 20th Anniversary and I'm going to use these to add some magic to the experience!

We ordered a custom cake and had it delivered to Artist Point where we celebrated our 30th anniversary. Wow! A greeting from the manager, personalized menus, complimentary champagne, it was a totally unforgettable experience-perfect in every way! DH says he knew they had me when we sat down and they announced they were bringing us an "Amuse Bouche" and I got so excited and said "I've heard of those on the 'Food Network'"

My wife and I spent our 41st wedding anniversary at the happiest place on earth this past February. What made it magical was we were together after having survived major heart surgery. We have slowed down a bit and tend to take more time sitting and watching the parade go by but we found that this time together, embraced in the magical glow that is Disney, was truly special. We made sure to spend our nights at the various dining spots that have the character meals-Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Princess dining at the GF to name a few. Watching the fireworks is a thrill but for us, but watching the young families and especially the little princes and princesses light up at the many wonders at Walt Disney World just fills us both with so much happiness. Wearing the buttons that stated we were celebrating our anniversary was great due to the well wishes we received from hundreds if not thousands of people. Our best experience with our buttons was when we were waiting for a bus to take us to the Magic Kingdom. A young couple with two little boys in the line ahead of us saw our pins and congratulated us for coming to Disney World for 41 years. When we corrected them and told them it was our wedding anniversary they asked us a rather peculiar question. "What do people your age do when you come to a place like this?" I responded, "everything you do except I don't have to chase two little ones around the park. We go on the rides, we eat with the characters, we dance in the parades". The girl was sweet and said she hoped they could do that when they got older and I told them. The trick to never getting old is to come to this place as often as you can. Embrace your youth and let go of the inhibitions you feel you need to have because of your age. My wife and I travel to WDW every year and we count down the days until our next visit all the year long. I may have strayed from the topic of what to do to make your trip extra special-I go with my wife.

Well depending on which resort you're staying at, you could go on a carriage ride (POR & POFQ) or wagon ride (FW) or rent a surrey or tandem bike.

Pick something "cheap" to do purposefully. One year - we each colored a Duffy and got stamps from each country in WS like the kids. One trip - we spent hours playing SOTMK. Next time - I'm thinking about hunting for as many pressed pennies machines we can find to do that.

But - dinner at Jiko and Wild Africa Trek are pretty great adult thing to do - and possible enough?

Ugh yes maybe "enough" but how can anything be enough for my sweetie? Besides little surprises are just as much fun as big fancy dinners.

Jiko is an excellent choice but keep trying if you would prefer V&A or do both on different nights! It's easy to cancel without any cost if you happen to get it. Also try the phone number on the website to book your trip. They always ask what your celebration is and they do have some spots if possible for things like this. Also they will flag your reservation as an anniversary trip so you never know what extras WDW might throw at you while there. Some resturants also notice little things like anniversary trip and go a little out of their way also.

The buttons I do recommend, you can get them at any park (customer service) and any resort. Depending on popularity the resort might have run out for the moment but you'll get grab it at the park. If lucky his favorite character might wish you happy anniversary from a parade. They interact really well and trained to notice your button.

I would like to recommend Bluezoo at the Dolphin. It is easy to find and delicious. You can leave there and walk around the boardwalk, or take the little boat to the different stops around the lake in back of Epcot. Or walk to Epcot for Illuminations.
