Extra Magic hours

How does it work when magic hours are in the evening? Do they check everyones wrist to see if they have a special band on? Do they say to you "you must leave the park now". It seems like with that many people there in the dark how would they know if you were a guest of a disney resort

They scan bands for ride access. You are free to stay in the park and hang out or shop even without a band.

As long as you are in the park at the start of evening EMH you can stay and shop, dine, spend money, people watch. Castmembers check MBs at the entrance to rides and shows.

I don't know of any "shows" during PM EMH except for an occasional Fantasmic! at DHS, and THAT show (even if it happens during PM EMH) is OPEN to ALL guests, even those not staying at a WDW resort.

It remains to be seen if DAK will begin to offer PM EMH (likely) after Rivers of Light begins performances.
And, we don't know if there are RoL performances during PM EMH if they will be open to all, or just resort guests.

Sorry, I hadn't thought about Fantasmic. I was thinking about shows in terms of attractions that aren't rides, but something like the American Adventure.
