We are just a bit confused about the EMH benefit. If MK had EMH for the morning and says it's hours that day are 9am - 11pm, does it really open at 8am for us? I just want to make sure I know the time that each park will be open for us staying at POFQ in July.

Thanks!

Yes, in the example you gave WDW Resort guests would be admitted to the MK at 8:00 am.

As OKW Lover said, all WDW resort guests can enter the park one hour before the "official" opening time on EMH mornings. You can also stay three hours past the
official" closing time on EMH evenings!

Hello :)

Newbie here....yes, even my first post!! :)...I have an additional question about EMH's:

On the CLOSING end, how do they know which park patrons are resort guests and which ones aren't?

TiA!

DisneyZigs,
If this is your first or secod (as the BBS software seems to thing) post, welcome!

For the evening EMH's, you have to get a wrist band from one of the designated spots in the park. After the official public closing, you need to show your wrist band to get on any of the attractions.

Ah! That makes sense!

Thank you, Bob and Jeff! :wave2:

(I posted another question on another thread right after this one. Now that I've broken the ice, I'm going to be a posting monster! Somebody stop me!!)

I have to tell you that we avoid the extra magic hour in the morning like the plague. We think the park is MUCH more crowded on these mornings

Like the plague...just got back today- had the best trip ever! will avoid all EMH times at all times after this! Went to Epcot in one a.m.- after noticing LARGE crowds, found out it was their emh a.m. day....made the same mistake a few nights later,at MGM- we don't ever do the EMh hours, but the crowds are awful! Spectromagic was more crowded than I've ever seen, thankfully we were planning to leave anyway- my suggestion if you're going at a slower time, work around those schedules...just a suggestion.... pirate:

Thanks, jdvm and hsmamato2...I have heard the suggestion of actually avoiding the parks that have EMH. I think we will do just that.

I was just kind of curious how they would handle letting the resort patrons stay and not the others.

When/how do we find out which parks have EMH for our stay?

Mary Beth, you can also click on "park hours" at the top of this page and then click on EMH for June. A word of warning is that they may change a bit between now and then, so keep checking back.

We stayed at the Poly last year on our first family trip. It was the week before Easter and really busy. I would would highly recommend that, as a resort guest, you do not miss the opportunity to take advantage of EMH morning openings, especially at the MK. Go to the EMH opening, stay a couple of hours and if you think it is gettting too busy, head to another park at that time.

They distinguish resort guests from non-resort guest for EMH by using the resort room key/cards. They will issue one for each guest staying in the room. That's how you get let in in the morning and how they issue wristbands in the evening.

We used the "extra magic evening hours" this past January. There are alot of people walking around the parks but you can't get on the rides unless you have the wristband. Also, we got on some of the rides much quicker than the posted times outside. Test track said 40 minutes and we were on in 10 minutes. Soaring draws a big crowd--we didn't attempt that one. I think there should be a better way to get the NON Disney visitors out of the parks--instead they are still there in the shops and restaurants.

Going back in March--DD is performing in Magic Music Days. She is staying at the Polynesian. I'm looking for a bargain at the Boardwalk---not much luck---checking into PIN codes. We have been yearly visitors since 1986!!! First visit with DH in the late 70's as Epcot was being built and the only resort was the Contemporary. AND arriving in the tiny McCoy airport!

Hey, if you want to know the EMH you can log onto the official Walt Disney World sight, I think it is www.disneyworld.com, and in the band about 1/4 of the way down the page there is an icon for the calendar. It list the EMH for six months, and it also lists the rides that are open during the EMH.
