Looking at buying tickets for April 2015 trip. Currently special on buy 3 or 4 and get extra day free. The lingo is confusing as it says multi day tickets get a Magic Morning - we are staying at DVC GC through owner rental and thought we'd get Early entry to one of the parks each morning. Could someone explain how this works and if I can buy these tickets and still take advantage of the Disneyland Park Hotel Perk?

Early Entry (EE) is for on-site guests with a room key. At the entrance to the parks for EE each person will need to show their room key along with a park ticket for the CM to scan. EE is good for both DL and DCA.

Magic Morning (MM) comes with certain multi day park tickets. At the entrance to DL the CM will scan the ticket, if MM is available on the ticket then you're in. MM is only at Disneyland

When we were there during Christmas - only one person in the group needed a room key as long as we were all together. I was happy about this as I don't like my kiddos running around losing their keys!

I let the kids hold their passes and room keys for the two minutes before and after we go through the turnstiles. That's it, then back in my pockets for safeguarding (except for the time I dropped all of our passes somewhere between hotel and the entrance. Thankfully someone turned them in eventually!)

Disneyland.com also has information about MM and EMH:
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/guest-services/early-admission-options/

As Geemo said, EMH is for on-site guests (DLH, PPH, and GCH) and occurs at both DCA and DL (alternating mornings normally). Whereas MM is only at DL and is for guests with certain multi-day tickets. At DL, MM and EMH happen on the same morning (normally), so DL's early opening tends to be busier than DCA's.

There hasn't been a lot of talk about the Villas at the Grand Californian, but a few threads from 2012 indicate that DVC guests were also eligible for EMH.

lol.....I can so relate.

I have always been a hugh fan of EMH. Can I just tell you it was a LIFE SAVER during our Christmas trip. They actually had both parks open early and we made full use of it each day. We were able to ride all the big ticket rides each morning at whichever park we were at before they let everyone in. By 10:30, I couldn't stand it anymore and we would go back and rest and swim. Even at night it was terrible crowded but we were able to do parades and shows during this time. If your family will get up and go --- it is so worth it during busy times!

Hope you have a wonderful vacation.

yes, VGC count as onsite guests with EMH benefits.

AGREE!

As a DVC member with multiple trips staying in the VGC we have always been able to access early entry with our VGC room key. Owner or renter of points won't make any difference, your room key will get you in :thumbsup2

NOTE: I'm sure you will see this elsewhere, but on mornings that early entry is offered at CA I would recommend NOT using the seperate GC entrance into that park. You are much better off strolling through Downtown Disney and using the main entrance. There are only two entry points at the GC entrance and often only one bag checker and it can get a bit backed up.

Have a great trip!
