Extra Magic Hours....to Do or not to do...

Whats YOUR take...

When Extra Magic Hours started we LOVED it. But it has gotten SOOOOOOOOOOO popular, that it is TOO popular. It attracts HUGE crowds... We have more fun avoiding them. Anyone else use this strategy?

Does anyone have any actual statistics about attendance levels on this?

We were down in WDW Easter Week. The parks were very crowded but we did EMH in MK on Easter Sunday. As the park was open that day till midnight - we were able to stay in the park until 3:00 am. We did this and yes there were still people in the park at 3:00 am. It was wonderful. We were able to get on all the rides we wanted to - we rode SM three times without getting off. The next day we did AK. AK was open until 8:00 pm so we stayed until 11:00 pm. We were able to get on Everst with a fastpass.

We are a couple in our 40's and had my boyfriends 17 year old son with us. EMH in the morning would not work for us - but the evening hours worked out great.

I love EMH in the mornings. We get to the park and nail the most popular stuff and quite a few other things. We're in the back of the park by the time the crowds start to swell and head to another park around noon for a few rides then go back to the resort to sleep and swim.

I am planning on doing EMH at AK this november, to take advantage of EE. Also, EMH on Thanksgiving am EMH at MK ( I know.. we are nuts!)

Hmm..well I noticed that if the park were open earlier than it was less crowded during the evening and vice versa, so we kind of did the opposite schedule of EMH. Seemed to work for us. Although I must admit we did go to MK on an EMH night so we could see the fireworks. We were able to catch a bus fairly quickly back to the resort since most people were staying later to play.
