Extra Magic Hours Question

Okay, I thought I just created this topic, but it's not showing up, so I'm going to try one more time!

We are going to The World in September. My Mom, who lives in Florida, is going to meet us there.

We are staying on-site, and she is not. Have any of you off-site visitors to the World ever stayed in one of the Parks during their late-night Extra Magic Hours?

I know you have to have a wristband to ride the rides, see the shows, etc., but do you know if you can stay in the designated EMH Park just to stroll around and look at the sights and/or shop?

Seems like I see a lot of people WITHOUT wristbands on the EMH nights at the Parks strolling around or milling about in the gift shops.

I thought I would pose the question to you off-site visitors because you would know best!

sure your mom can stroll around. She just won't be able to get on the rides. i think at some point in time maybe someone will question her, but i haven't seen it happen to the many no wrist banded people i saw. you could always just call and find out :

That is a good idea to call ahead and find out. I mean, we'll run that risk with her having to leave the Parks, I know.

But, she would probably be tired by that time of night anyway and ready to leave.

Last trip, my husband & boys went around and rode all the Epcot rides at night during the EMH, but I was just bushed. I went back to the hotel, but I noticed on the way to the buses that there were a lot of people WITHOUT wristbands shopping in the stores.

I don't think Disney will kick out PAYING customers, you know?

Thanks for your opinion....I think she'll be able to stay in the parks with us, but I thought I'd see what some off-site visitors' experiences were!

i did a lot of people watching during last years EMHs and i agree about the lot of people without WBs! my DH and DD rode some rides while i sat out (i was pregnant) and a lot of the people i sat on the benches with didn't have the bands either.
