Are Extra Magic Hours good or bad? The day we go to Epcot is a morning EMH day. Will the crowds be unbareable because of the EMH? Or will it help us see more? :confused3

You should be AT the front gate 25-30 minutes before scheduled opening time (that includes EMH mornings).

They usually start letting guests enter the park early and walk to the rope-drop area (near Innovention and the central fountain).

There will sometimes be Characters (sometimes not) and the CM's will "release" everyone at "straight-up" opening time (EMH or otherwise).

They will "walk" everyone at that time to either Test Track/Mission Space area or the Soarin' area.

And yes, you WILL get a head-start on the day.
You can get more done in the first hour to 2 1/2 hours than at any other time of the day (EMH or not). If the EMH park then starts to "get too busy", you can HOP to another park or swim or...

I guess the answer to your question all depends on if you plan to take advantage of them or not.

If you are an early riser and can make it to the park about 1/2 hour ahead of EMH in the morning then that time can be great. You can accomplish many of the "big" attractions without much of a wait and you can really maximize youre time in the morning by getting Fastpasses.

If you are a nightowl, then the EMH at night might be what you need and would want to take advantage of. Again, you can usually visit many of the "big" attractions at night with minimal crowds and Fastpasses are available at night as well.

Now, I would not suggest arriving an hour or two after park opening if they had EMH that morning. Usually the crowds can be a bit swelled at that time. If you are not going to participate in the morning EMH you should probably skip that park for the day.

Have fun!!!!

Well, the rest of the family will be none too happy that they'll be getting up early again. (Considering we are taking a really early flight to Disney.) :rotfl:

Robo is absolutely right. Get there before EMH starts and you'll be amazed at all the attractions you have no wait for. But, you need to be willing to hop mid-day when it gets crazy. We also had very good luck with the evening EMH's after we napped mid-day.

We love the morning EMH, but steer clear of the evenings. The crowds don't usually pour in until after 11:00 a.m. and by then we have gone on all the big name rides in whatever park we are in. We like to take a mid-day break and then go to a different park in the evening. However, I am a HUGE morning person!

Please, help me decide!
I have just ONE day per park with no hopping.
My idea was to use evening EMH for Epcot and MGM and to go in "normal" days to MK and AK. Is this a bad idea?
Seems that morning EMH are good just for who have the park hopping in mind! :confused3
Please, note that I'll leave in one week. What about the crowds? I choosed this time since it is after Easter break and before the schools closed in USA... Hoping I do the right choice!

Hopping is $40 per TICKET (not per day).
You can add hopping at any time. So if you need the flexibility (I always want that) you can choose to add "hopping" at that time and go.

You are going at a very good time for lower crowd levels.
Mornings (EMH or not) are the best times.
You would do well to go in for that extra morning EMH hour... well worth it.
