Extra Magic Hours...? Can't figure 'em out.

OK...maybe i'm being a little slow here, but...
EMH, does that tack on extra time to the times listed in the disney calendar, or are the extra times tacked on already?

For example: Jan 1 2006, MK 8:00-12AM, EMH evening.
Does that mean with the evening EMH, the park will close at 3:00 AM, or it really closes at 9:00PM and the EMH gives it until 12AM? (Same concept with the other parks right?)

Yep...with all the OTHER planning, this one has completely stumped me!! Totally Confused and seeking expert Dis guidance...

EMH adds to the listed hours. Since people staying off site look at that same schedule, they list the hours that are good for everyone, and the EMH is tacked on to that.

3-A-M Night (as it is often referred to in my house) is a must not miss. I actually had DD go to sleep at 9pm and than woke her at 11:30pm and off we went. It was amazing. The park was empty, we rode things over and over without getting off and had the characters basically to ourselved in Front of Castle at 3AM. We left the park at about 3:30. It is a highlight of our 20+ trips and we are disappointed there won't be one next time.

I don't think this would work. Although you may enter an EMH park after midnight, the calendar day for that park is still the same. For example, if the MK has a evening EMH starting Monday night at 11pm you can enter after midnight (now officially Tuesday) but it would still count as Monday as far as the computer system that tracks your tickets.
So when you arrive on Tuesday at any park the system will show that you used a park entry on Monday but not yet on Tuesday.

I confirmed with 2 different CM's while I was on the phone this morning, EMH is based on "operating day" so it won't work. IE if Monday is EMH even if you enter at 1am Tuesday, your ticket will still read for Monday
