We were just talking about our upcoming WDW vacation and the subject of EMH came up. We are renting points from a DVC owner. Since this is not booked through CRO / WD Travel will we be allowed access to this event? We always did the E-Nights when they had them but we have always booked directly with Disney in the past. Are DVC owners/renters allowed to go to EMH? Thanks.

Yes, you will have access to EMH. That is available to all onsite guests. You'll just need to show your valid "Key To The World" card (room id) to get the wristband for the EMH evening events. This benefit has nothing to do with being a DVC member.

Enjoy!

Thanks Doc!! We have never rented DVC before so when the question came up about certain Disney perks I really wasn't sure. My family loves staying late at the parks so they will be happy to know this.

Just be aware that emh nights have become kind of insane. We were there in April, and then again in May, and the park that was having emh (didn't matter whether it was morning or evening) was CRAZY busy!!!!

On the evenings of Epcot and MGM's extra hours, I thought I was going to go crazy trying to get out of the parks!!! We decided to leave right at the start of emh's, because they were so crowded...and, imagine yourselves trying to go the WRONG way thru the Osbourne lights, or trying to go from the entrance to Main St. to the castle immediately following Wishes. That's what walking from TOT to the front gate was like at 9:00pm during EMH (and, MGM didn't close until 10).

I hope you have a wonderful experience with emh's...but, just be prepared for the crowds.

Thanks for the heads up Beca. I really appreciate it.

We just returned from our trip, and I really preferred the extra hours before they were free to folks staying at a Disney resort. The park with extended hours was SOOOOOO...... crowded that we ended up leaving early. I'd prefer paying the extra fee which seems to limit the crowd. We really got our money's worth when that approach was in place.

For what it's worth, we did EMH nights at MGM and MK back in early May, and had great success with both. At MGM we hit GMR while Fantasmic was finishing, and that certainly helped since it seems to be consistently one of our longest waits. After that we headed toward VotLM, Star Tours and Mupptevision, and had no waits. ToT and RnR may have been a different story, but we didn't head that way.

At the Magic Kingdom we did a TON of stuff on the EMH night. It probably helped that we didn't stand around waiting for Wishes--we did BTMR 2x while Wishes was going on, and then headed straight over to Splash Mountain as the crowds were re-grouping. I count at least 10 attractions we visited between 7pm and 10pm on that EMH night, and that included about 20 minutes to do the Princes meet 'n' greet in Toontown. That was our single most productive block of "ride" time during our week's stay.

We didn't participate in the evening EMH while we were at the parks a couple of weeks ago.

However, we had great success with extremely low crowds at MK the morning AFTER their nighttime EMH...walked on everything (except Dumbo...which is the one ride Camden really wanted to go on) til noon when the sleepyheads from the previous night descended on the parks again. ;)
