We are taking our 2 year old daughter to the World for the first time in September. According the the DW website the MK is only offering Fireworks on the Monday night that we'll be there (the 22nd) at 8:00pm BUT the Extra Magic Hour for MK is on Sunday.

It wouldn't normally be a problem, but we have night things planned for the rest of our nights there - Epcot Illuminations, and Fantasmic.

So which should be sacrificed - the EMH, the Fireworks, or Illuminations?

Thanks for your help,
Jamie

I would sacrifice the MK fireworks. EMH gives you the biggest benefit in MK, and you're seeing fireworks at the other parks. You've probably read this before, but go to Fantasyland first when you arrive for your EMH. Get the non-fastpass rides out of the way, and pick up some fastpasses for Pooh and Peter Pan (I think Peter has Fastpass).

Also we had to leave Fantasmic with our 3 yo because it was too loud. And noises never bother him. Get some earplugs. If you want to stay up late for the night shows, make sure you take naps in the afternoon. I'm sure you're already planning to do this.

You might want to try to see the afternoon parade at MK although the MGM parade is really fun too.

I second missing the MK fireworks. The EMH will be great for your young one due to lower crowds for the first hour and Illuminations is a must see.

Definitely do EMH, but you may also want to skip Fantasmic. It really scared my two when they were toddlers and it was very loud. In fact, they didn't care for the noise associated with fireworks and never really demonstrated any sensitivity to noise before that.

A suggestion I'd make for enjoying fireworks from afar is to have dinner at the Poly and watch the MK fireworks from their dock. The music is piped in and you have a lovely view of the fireworks. Yet you are far enough away that the noise isn't as loud as what it would be in the parks.

JMHO!;)
