Hi all,
Ok I've been to Disney countless times and stayed at the resorts but never used the extra magic hour because It usually makes that particular park have the highest attendance for the day. So here's my question, when we booked the hotel we booked for two adults but I'm sneaking my little brother in with us (ok, 21, not so little). Now I know you need to show hotel ID so how can we get aroud that? Can i maybe go back out and give my brother my husbands ID ?? How might we work around this thing.

Please help,

You will not be able to do this. The Key to the World Cards have individual names on them, and each person is required to show a photo idea to get a wrist band. Sorry. Your best bet would be to be honest about it and pay the extra adult fee for your brother.

Particularly with the evening EMH, you are going to need to show your resort ID to get the bracelets which allow you to stay in the park, and if your little brother doesn't have one, no bracelet. It's only an extra $10 per night (I think) to make him legit, so isn't that worth it to not have the worry?

TLinden16 is correct...this is the rule according to Disney but we did not experience this. My sister showed one key for all 3 of us (all adults). We received wrist bands with no problem. We were there for 10 days and experienced EMH severel nights so it was not a one time occurance.

3 people need three resort ID's. Disney doesn't allow "sneaking" 21 year olds in, they are adults.

I don't think most people here are the type to help someone else break rules for someone who isn't eligible for a particular benefit. Do things the right way and then you don't have to worry about "sneaking" things by. Good luck.

Please note that most people have here have said that they have been asked for picture ID's that match to the name on the Key to the World cards to get wrist bands for the evening magic hours (as a matter of fact, many folks have reported that they've been asked for IDs for their children).

Maybe you'll be able to get them as Tine731 did, but just be prepared for the fact that if you do not put your BIL on your room you are likely to not get a wristband for him, and he will have to leave the park. Personally, if I were intending to use this feature, and was looking forward to sharing that experience with my BIL, I would put him on the room rather than risk disappointment.

I agree with NCombs about the rules and was not suggesting breaking them. I was just sharing my experience. I also agree with connorsmom911....it is $10 to add another adult to the room. I would think that alone is worth peace of mind. :sunny:

Picture ID's for everyone and even ID's for the kids, eh? They even ask you to leave the park if you can't produce a picture ID? This must be just when the retina scanner is down. ;)

Honestly, I have alway's followed the rules (except, maybe using on old refillable mug :rolleyes1 ) but, in the scheme of things, this is just not that serious.

OK, I really don't understand why people come on here and ask us if it is ok to steal, cheat, and lie. If you cannot afford to go and pay the price, then maybe you should wait until you CAN afford it. This is an extremely contraversal post, doesn't make for a good first one. Anyway, welcome to the boards, and to answer your question, they actually take a biometric scan of your fingers, so no your brother would not be able to use your husbands ticket. Good luck in whatever you do and have a magical time.

Just to clarify, I am not trying to sneak my brother in on my husbands ticket, he has his own tickets which I have purchased for him. I have puchased his tickets for him because he is a college student and as many of you should know from your college years, college students are usually pretty broke. This trip was originally supposed to just be my husband and myself, when we told my brother we were going to Disney he happened to metion how badly he needed a break from school but also said he couldn't afford to go anywhere. Anyway, I had already booked my hotel room for two adults, and figured it really wasn't such a big deal to have him tag along. I certainly don't mind taking my little brother and paying all his expenses (tickets, food, airfare etc....), but if I can save a penny here or there, it certainly helps. I never thought that anyone would take this post in such a negative way. Just trying to save a couple of cents is all.

You are contradicting yourself here...EVERYONE wants to save money when they go to disney, but cheating and SNEAKING is not the way to do it...there are plenty of websites including this one where you can get codes and such to save money...you can get a cheaper ticket at www.ticketmania.com you WILL have to add him to your room ressie in order for him to take advantageof the EMH's......

I guess it is a matter of personal views, I teach my kids NOT to lie and cheat and sneak, so yes I am sorry for looking at this in a negative way, but there are other ways around the saving money thing without sneaking. Whatever you decide to do is your business, so have a great trip.

Since when did they ask for picture ID to get the bracelets? DS and I went to the MGM EMH eve. We were staying onsite, but my key had his name and his had mine-and we'd gone to MGM separately. To get our bracelets, we just showed the room key, they never looked at the name, luckily for us! But have they changed that? If so, guess I'd better check that I grab the right key from now on!
