Hi guys,

First post here, planning for this summer's vacation. Hypothetically if you had an extra $400 to spend on Lightsabers, would you book a second Savi's experience (to get more pieces to customize etc.) OR would you just spend it on more Legacy Lightsabers?

At the moment we don't have either, and we intend to book Savi's for both my son and I. We're both big Star Wars fans.

It really depends on the person. Prior to going to Savi's, I had 2 F/X lightsabers Vader and Luke's/Anakin. When I found out about Savi's and you could customize your own lightsaber, I sold the Anakin one because I knew I'd get a blue kyber crystal. I loved the experience of putting one together and it is truly one of my favorite memories at WDW. Also, I got all the different crystal colors so I personally wouldn't feel the need to get additional lightsaber.

I have went on to purchase the Black Series Darth Revan lightsaber because he's one of my favorite characters. Do you and your son have a favorite character? I've been waiting on the Cal Kestis lightsaber because I like the way the hilt looks but if I had to buy a legacy lightsaber now it would probably be Ashoka's cause I like the blue/green blade changing aspect.

When my wife did the Savi's experience, there were builders there with her who had each chosen different themes, and then swapped pieces within their theme - so they had truly unique sabers. So I'd suggest each of you doing Savis, so that you both get the fun of customizing and creating something.

Do you have $400 for 2 sabers for yourself or $400 between you and your son (for one each)? If you're both only getting one then I would book the experience for both of you at the same time. Not only would you both get a custom saber, but you'd be able to let in 1 guest each if you have more than one person in your party that wants to watch.

I had enough for 2 sabers last October but I used the money for the 2nd saber to build 2 droids (1 for my wife and 1 for me).

I would like to buy legacy lightsaber. These are the lightsabers that have been wielded by famous characters across films, shows, and video games set in the Star Wars universe. Though none of the Legacy sabers can be considered bad, some simply rise above others when it comes to the overall quality and their status in the fanbase.

I would decide based on which specific lightsabers I wanted. I have one Peace and Justice and one Elemental Nature from Savi’s because I love the designs. I thought about getting Rey’s legacy saber but in the end I preferred the look of the Savi’s (and I liked the idea of having my own unique sabers!)

I would steer clear of the Savi's. Both of ours broke in a matter on months from nothing more than turning off and on and moving slowly back and forth (i.e. no dueling with them - they aren't toys)

In addition - the Peace and Justice designs do not line up properly on the hilt...there are 4 pieces that each have a design and screw on. but the inner handle is plastic and so the threads on those get loose since you are screwing and unscrewing a piece of metal onto a piece of plastic. and then the design features do not line up in a straight line from the top of the hilt to the bottom.

It's a poor product for a premium $250 experience.

I’ve got two Savi’s and they are decent and in good working order after over a year and nearly a year of play. With savi you’re also paying for the experience of building, the bag and the pin- plus the fancy toys. The equivalent of wands with more fun functionality.

Compared to neopixel or similar non-Disney sabers the price is decent- and you can find all sorts of good resources for correcting any aesthetic or technical issues you’re having. Plus tons of resources for further customizing your saber (which is easier to do with the Savi’s vs the legacy).

The legacy are real nice- very good as replica prop toys go.

If you want a dueling saber or something real durable for active play I’d look at third party sabers
