Extra insurance?

Do most people purchase extra insurance for their cruise? I already have medical insurance through my work, and I'm using Visa to pay for all trip expenses, so there's interruption/cancellation coverage with Visa. What do others do?

Well, we always get insurance - mostly for the medical/evacuation coverage. Many health plans in the US do not cover out of country. Especially Medicare. And evacuation costs can run upwards from $30,000.

Thanks, yes I saw your post. I was just wondering about extra insurance, on top of what I already have through work and Visa. I know a few years ago during a trip to Florida, my DD and I had to go to the hospital, and when I got home, the "extra" insurance that I had purchased just took the money from my work insurance anyway. So I was left wondering why the heck I had bought extra insurance?
