I read that as of 1/2/05 each park will be open 3 hours after park closing for on-site guests. Let me hear your thoughts on how they will handle this in the summer months when some of the parks don't close until 10 p.m. I was planning on staying off-site but might change my mind.

I agree. If you remember E-nights, during late August, MK somestimes closed at 10 or 11 and then E-night went until 1 or 2.

Not exactly.
On SELECTED evenings during the week, ONE of the theme parks will be open 3 hours past closing for resort guests. ....... MGM's will be Thursday...

I thought MGM was open late on Sundays??? Please tell me it's Sundays because our whole trip is going on this EMH!!

Go to AllEars and check the update schedule. It changes on certain weeks - it's not constant. MGM is the Sunday EMH nighttime choice on Sundays for the first two weeks of January, for instance, but not the third.

You need look no further than the DIS:EMH JAN-MAR

The evening schedule is varying (and Disney reserves the right to change the schedule at any time.)

I hope that you find it helpful in planning your trip. :D :D :D

Okay, I'm feeling kind of clueless...

My mom has already purchased park hopper tickets for our upcoming trip this February, but they aren't the new tickets coming into effect as of January... we will be staying at the AKL, so does this mean that (because we will have the older tickets) we will not be able to take advantage of the extra hours?

Also, how can I find out which nights the extra hours will be occuring during our trip? Or is it every week?

TIA!

I has nothing to do with what type of ticket you are using. All you need is a resort ID (room key) from one of the WDW resorts to stay late (of course you need a ticket to get into the park). You show your ID and they give you a wristband.

Thanks, but actually it isn't going to help us at all. We go to Disney every year and visit 1 park for a day (or two). We stay on property and base our visit on the EMH.....we are planning on EMH Sunday evening in July before going to M&FIL's and BIL's house for the rest of our visit. So, now....what to do????? :confused3 What if we buy airline tix, reserve cars and hotel and it turns out that EMH isn't when we thought??? What should I do?? btw, DH is NOT happy!

I don't think there is any certainty on what they will do over 6 months from now. After 9/11, they cancelled early entry totally for a long time and shortened park hours. I'm sure the people going in January based their plans on the old early morning schedule. You just have to hope for the best and be flexible.

There is no extra charge. You must be staying at a WDW resort, Swan/Dolphin or Hilton.

Hopefully these people are able to go for more than 1 day......they have a better chance of hitting EMH by being there 4 + days! I can't "vent" right now, but look for it later as it's own thread!!

I am waiting for after Jan 2 to revise my plan but I am thinking of avoiding the EMH parks. If people are trying to save money and buy the new "nonhopping option" they will most likely pick the park that gives them the most hours, therefor, I am thinking if you go to lets say MK on a nonEMH day, the crowds will be less and allow you to do more in less time.

JMHO, only time will tell,

When are you going and for how long??

Our plan is to buy 6 or 7 day ticket w/ no exp. option (that's it). For us, the 7 day with this option was about the same price as a 5 day ph.---but getting 2 more days.
